Hi I'm Karissa Shepherd

I'm a stay at home Mother to a little boy and baby girl. I love to sew, craft, blog and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I stay at home with my two beautiful kids. Sometimes its hard being home all the time so I have taken to crafting or sewing. I love to see something online or tv and make my own rendition of it. Especially if I can save some money. I love to eat which is why I need to workout. I love to be with my kids. I have lived in Arizona all my life and I never plan on leaving.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love everything that the Church stands for. Family. I am a big supporter of Family. It should always come first. In this day and age if you don't have your Family then who do you have? I know that this Church is true and every guideline given isn't their to make our life harder but to make our life easier. It can be so easy to give into temptation and fall victim to the bad things in life that surround us all. Drugs, Alcohol, anything that can cause an addictive manner. Satan is stronger than ever and we need to stand together and resist his temptations. I have seen so many people choose to drink and do drugs. I have seen what it has done to them physically and what it has done to them emotionally. It makes you vulnerable. It brings you down and makes you behave in ways you wouldn't if you were thinking straight. It breaks up families and it tears relationships apart. The point is that not everyone can do things in moderation so its best to stay away from anything that can be harmful to you. You can just put your hand to a fire and expect to walk away with no burns. Heavenly Father loves each and everyone of us and wants us to be happy. We came to this earth to learn and make our own decisons. We need to choose to follow his plan so that we can return back to him. I am a Mormon. I am proud to say that. I am so thankful for all the blessings that my Father In Heaven has given me. He never said it would be easy but he said it would be worth it.

How I live my faith

In my Ward I serve as the Young Womens Secretary. I love working with the girls. The Mothers of tomorrow. Teaching them and being their for them is such a great blessing. Being a teenager is so hard and I hope that they can come to church and escape the pressures of being a teen. I do my Visiting Teaching almost every month. If we can't get to them then we call them and see if our sisters need any help. I have made an apron for a mother who was just to busy to make her daughter one for the Trek. I have watched a house for one and fed their cat. Bringing a meal or two is also something that I like to do for someone who is ill or just had a baby. I know that I have been the one on the recieving end of that and greatly appreciated it. Its always nice especially for those members in the Ward who do not have family near by. Like I said before the church is big on Family. And my Ward is like a family to me. Since the first day we attended it was like coming home. Everyone was so nice and everyone helps out. Service is such a blessing.
