Hi I'm Danny Carney

I love the Portuguese language and Brazilian food, I love to run track and cross country, I love my family, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my second year at BYU where I compete in Cross Country as well as Track and Field. I served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sao Paulo Brazil. I love speaking Portuguese and I miss the wonderful people of Brasil. I love helping bring others to Christ and assist them in feeling the true joy that is this Gospel. I enjoy learning about History and also Biology and I hope to someday go into the Medical Field. My family is the best thing I have in this world and I am very blessed to have them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church and my parents have both been active members their whole lives. I grew up following the teachings of the Gospel but when I was a young teenager I decided that I needed to find out for myself if this church was true and not follow it with no knowledge. I read the scriptures and sincerely prayed to my Father in Heaven, asking if what I was doing was right. I received my answer and I have continually been blessed to receive the knowledge that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He died for me and I can become clean from any mistakes through His Atonement. I can overcome anything in my life with the help of Christ. He loves us so much that he experienced every trial, weakness, inadequacy, and hardship we will ever have. God loves me and I know that He is invested in my life and listens to my prayers. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet of God and that if we follow his counsel we will know what God wants us to do. I know that my family is sealed together forever through the power of the temple and that I will get to be with them for eternity if I live my life in accordance to God's will. I know the Book of Mormon testifies of Christ and is a book of complete truth. It has blessed me so much in my life and made my daily life much better. I love this Gospel and I can honestly say I would not be the same without it in my life.

How I live my faith

I have had my life completely changed by this Gospel and I love teaching others about our Savior and our loving Heavenly Father. I dedicated two years of my life to serving the Lord in Brasil in a small act of gratitude for all that He has done for me. I have been so blessed and humbled to see the changes that happen in the hearts of people as they honestly and sincerely pray to our Heavenly Father in earnest prayer, and then act on the guidance, knowledge, and help they receive. I love serving in the church and I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given to do so. One of the most important ways that I live my faith is through studying sacred scripture daily and keeping the Sabbath Day holy. Something that is vital to helping me keep my faith alive is daily prayer. I know that as I pray to God, He listens. He loves each and every one of us and I feel His love and guidance as I pray to Him. That blesses me so incredibly much and helps me to become a better person.
