Hi I'm Nathan Floyd

I love movies, music, dancing, and singing! I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello, my name is Nathan. I was born is California, but moved to Texas after my freshman year of high school. I'm currently serving a mission in Indiana, and I love it! :) I want to be an actor, and I love to sing! So, I really enjoy musicals! I hope I can one day be a great singer like Josh Groban! I also enjoy dancing, and watching movies (action/comedies are my favorites), but I can enjoy all kinds! I love spending time with my family, and friends. I'm a nice guy and I love helping those in need.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I’ve always believed in Christ and his teachings, however as the years went by I faced many trials and tribulations in my life. I lived in California for most of my life, I felt I was living a righteous life, however one day my father got a job transfer to Texas so we had to move. I was sad, for I had family and many friends in California. I didn’t want to leave, so when I got to Texas I chose to be sad. One day in the midst of my sorrow I found myself asking “Why?” “Why did we have to move?” So, I prayed to God and asked him these questions, I had real intent and sincerity in my prayer! God didn’t answer my prayer immediately but, he heard me pray, and answered me. You see I’d received persecution, for my faith all my life. So, much so that I began to doubt my faith, or even who I was. I talked to my dad about all these many things on my mind, and that I’d prayed to know. My dad then told me something that I’d never forget. It was the answer to my prayer. He told me that for 15 years or so my mom had been praying for a safe place to raise her children, and be happier than ever before. I began to cry, I had been so selfish, I just wanted what I wanted. Not even caring what my parents wanted for me, or what God wanted for me. I felt at peace, I felt this comforting feeling overwhelm my body and soul. I knew my family loved me that God loved me. Knowing God answers prayers I decided to ask God if what I believed was true. I asked God, “Is the Book of Mormon true?”, and “Was Joseph Smith a true prophet?” I waited…still on my knees I waiting patiently for my responds, and having faith he would answer me, and I began to feel that overwhelming warmth again, I received a feeling in my heart that answered, “Yes Nathan, it is true.” I know now that what I believe is truth, and even though I still may receive persecution for my faith, I can stand firm in what I know to be true.

How I live my faith

Currently, I'm serving as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Indiana. I teach people about Jesus Christ and his teachings. I give service to those in need, whether it be in the community or for the Church, or really anyone who needs help. Back home in Texas, I assisted in the library at Church. It was a fun experience helping, and talking with everyone who came in and out of the library. I also helped out the missionaries back home, as they taught and helped others as well. :)

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Nathan Floyd
How I have come to know our Father in Heaven is through sincere prayer. There have been times in my life where I have felt alone, or times where I felt as if no one could help, or understand me. It brings great comfort to me to know that I can turn to Heavenly Father for answers that press against my soul, and for comfort and healing. I was feeling a little down the other day, and as I knelt and prayed with all my heart and soul unto God I could feel his love for me. I knew that he was listening to me. I love our Heavenly Father, turn to him in all that you do. He will listen and he will answer your prayers. He is more than willing to help us if we simply ask. As we continue to pray to him, our relationship with him will grow. As we grow closer to God, we become happier. For he loves us and wants us to be happy. I can testify that this is true, for I have done so myself....I know without a doubt that he is there for us every step of the way. If we only trust in God, and turn to him in prayer.
