Hi I'm Eric

I grew up in Arkansas. I've traveled to 47 states. I write music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Father and Husband trying to provide the best I can in this tough economy. I like to ride my bike, play the piano, play with my french bulldog, and swim with my daughter. I am the chef in the household. My wife doesn't cook, I do. After over a decade of working, I'm contemplating going to college to receive a bachelor's degree. I know furthering my education will help improve my opportunities and provide more stability for my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that were Mormons. However, the area that I grew up in had very few members of the Church. There were times that I was the only boy my age that attended Church regularly. It was difficult to feel like I was alone and no one else was there. Just because I was raised as a Mormon, I had to know for myself if the teachings of the Church were true. I had many friends of other faiths. I took the time to ask what they believed and to listen to things that they were taught about God, life, death, and what to expect after this life. The more I learned about what they believed, I realized that their beliefs were close to ours. What made us different wasn't so much about what was wrong with us or them, but more about what more the Church had through the Book of Mormon and living Prophets. The Book of Mormon has brought such clarity to the teachings of Christ. It truely is a testament to the divinity of Christ's life and our purpose on Earth.

How I live my faith

I have the opportunity to teach other men in class every third Sunday of the month. I love it because I get to study a topic in depth and ponder on the topic. Then when I teach the class and have open discussion with them, they add so much and things that I may not have recognized during my preperation. Often times thing become clear, or I'm able to bring a point up that helps someone else. We are there to help each other in life, not just there for a meeting. The principles that are taught help us get through the trials and struggles of life. There is a feeling that we are not alone.
