Hi I'm Karen

I grew up in Utah, now live in Colorado. I'm a wife, mother, grandmother, friend and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love roller coasters! I enjoy sewing, quilting, crocheting, cooking, hiking, interior redecorating, furniture refinishing and hunting out a good treasure at the thrift store or garage sale. I love to watch CSI and Antique roadshow. I work as a medical assistant. I have been married for almost 30 years, my husband is my best friend and he makes me laugh everyday. I have 2 boys and 2 girls along with 2 wonderful daughters in law and a terrific son in law. We have 2 grandchildren, soon to be 3! I didn't attend college until my second child graduated high school, it was a great adventure and I have learned so much since then. I value friendship and find that meeting new people only adds to making me a better person. I feel that everyone has something important to give and that there is a reason we cross paths. I love life and enjoy it more each day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. My father was a convert and taught us to be true to whatever we do. I love the simplicity of the Gospel and the way it outlines for us paths that lead us to our Heavenly Father. I love the scriptures and their teachings, the spirit that comes from reading them and knowing that we are loved. I enjoy the relationship of the Relief Society program for women, knowing that anywhere I go in the world, I have a network of sisters that are willing to offer me friendship, share my burden or lift me up when I need help is so comforting. The activities and friendships within the church and it's programs provides me association with those who share my same standards, morals and beliefs. The teachings of the gospel provide me with opportunities to change my life for the better everyday! Although I may make mistakes the gospel teaches me how to fix them, repent and do better. I love knowing that I am child of God, a daughter of our Heavenly Father and that my family is eternal through the blessings of the Temple. I know without a doubt that being a Mormon is a great blessing to me and the lives of my family.

How I live my faith

Everyday I choose to be the best I can, I never know who is watching me. Working with those who do not share the same standards and morals can be very difficult but it can also provide oportunities for me to share my beleifs with them. By choosing everyday to be an example of modesty and high morals I have been strengthened and comforted in very difficult situations. I try to surround myself with others who are trying to be of good standing and reflect the same standards that I have. I try to attend the temple regularly as well as the sunday meetings. By reading the scriptures every day and praying I have had answers to things that trouble me while building my own testimony at the same time. Remembering what Christ has done for me and my family encourages me to be better and do better. Everyday brings new challenges but every day I can invite the spirit to be with me to help me along the way. Living the gospel hasn't made me different it has helped me to make a differnce in my life and the lives of my family and friends! It has made me stronger, it has blessed my life tremendously!
