Hi I'm Alli!

I put my degree in Public Health to work at home with my 3 children. I love being in the Colorado sunshine. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Colorado with an amazing family. I loved every minute of school and participated in sports, piano performance, and other clubs. I love being around people and being active. I went to the University of Northern Colorado for my bachelor's degree and decided to switch my life's work from Marketing to Public Health. I studied in Bangkok, Thailand during 2005 through an exchange program at Thammasat University and fell in love with travel. I have been to 12 countries in Europe and Asia. I married my best friend in 2006 in the Denver Temple. We loved being poor students together! I received my Master's in Public Health in 2009 from the Colorado School of Public Health. I feel blessed to have found my niche. I love people and I love finding creative ways to help them make healthy changes. After a short stint of public health organizational consulting, I am a full-time mother. I have to admit that I seriously love hanging out with my three children during the day (and in the middle of the night...). I am truly living the dream.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it's the only thing that has ever made me truly happy. Being a member of this church gives me purpose and strength. I am a Mormon because I know Heavenly Father loves us enough to send modern Prophets and additional scriptures. I LOVE the Book of Mormon. It is my favorite book. I know that Joseph Smith translated this book so that the entire world could learn more about Jesus Christ and the social consequences of sin. The Book of Mormon helps me be a better mother, wife, neighbor, and teacher. I am a Mormon because I love my family. This church focuses it's efforts on building strong families that will stay together after death. This is accomplished through temples. I started my family in the Denver Temple, by making sacred promises to my spouse and Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

In my local congregation I work with girls ages 12-13. These girls are facing a difficult time of adolescence. They are trying to figure out their identity in a tough world that sells the wrong message. I teach the girls that they have unlimited potential because Jesus Christ gave his life for them. I also help them make and reach goals through a program in the church called, Personal Progress. I have so much faith in the future because of these girls. I also participate in a program called Visiting Teaching. This program pairs women and we take care of each other through service and monthly visits. I love this because women need women! I have created meaningful relationships with women I usually didn't take time to love or befriend. My heart has stretched and I have learned not to judge. This program has truly helped me see women through Christ-like eyes. I am forever grateful for my opportunity to be a Visiting Teacher.
