Hi I'm Sharree

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of two beautiful daughters. I enjoy volunteering in their classes at school. I love to scrapbook, do crafts of all kinds and learn new skills from my friends and neighbors. I am a hairstylist and graphic designer. I love to play board games and card games, and love to talk a little smack while I play-all in good fun though. I also love watching movies and spending time visiting with friends and family. I have been married to my best friend for over 11 years.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a mormon has become such an integral part of my life-especially after becoming a mother. I have such a strong desire to teach my daughters who they are-Daughters of a loving Heavenly Father-and that they are of infinite worth. I know that through the gospel of Jesus Christ we are blessed with the opportunity to have an eternal family. The most important work I will do here on earth is to teach my children who they are, why they are here and where they are going. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provides me with the tools I need to do that. Through the Book of Mormon, a second witness of the life of Jesus Christ, and powerful confirmation of the Bible, I have answers to the trials that my family and I face today. We are spirit sons and daughters of God. We are all brothers and sisters and chose to follow God before we came to earth. God is our Father. He loves us. He loves us perfectly. He loves us unconditionally. He is available to me at any moment I seek him. We are here to learn to master our physical bodies; to show that we have the desire and courage to be obedient to God's commandments, even when we are the only one standing up for right; to learn to love our neighbor--to have compassion on others; we are here to learn & grow and be tested-to see if we will follow Christ's example. We are here to be instruments in God's hands. To be ready for him to put us in places and situations and in opportunities to bless the lives of others and to be answers to other's prayers. We are doing all this to return to live with our Father, and to be sealed with our families for all eternity. To be like God, and our Savior Jesus Christ. I know that God has a plan for me and my life. He has allowed me my free agency and the ability to choose right & wrong. I know that He knew that I would make mistakes, and already had in place a plan of redemption for me. How grateful I am for the atonement of Christ!

How I live my faith

I teach the 14 & 15 year old young women in my ward-they are incredible! The youth today are STRONG! They teach me much more than I teach them-and they are a great source of hope for the future, especially as I have 2 young daughters myself. I visit ladies in the ward monthly, to share a little gospel message & to be a friend & support to them. Through visiting teaching, I have made some of my best friends. It truly is an inspired program. At home, we study the scriptures every evening as we finish up dinner. We pray as a family each morning before we head out our different directions and we hold Family Home Evening each Monday evening-where we each take turns teaching short lessons on gospel principles, singing uplifting songs, & of course enjoying a treat! I have found the importance of finding quiet time. Time to ponder, think clearly, study, reflect on my life, my children, the gospel, trials and blessings. Time for God to communicate with me through the promptings of the Holy Spirit. For me, I have found it best to wake up before the rest of my family, study my scriptures & say my personal prayers before the morning buzz starts. During the day, I make a conscious effort to shut off the radio & give myself time without "noise." I also try to make the gospel part of everyday conversation. It is who I am. I try to reflect it in my actions, in my words, in my dress, in my thoughts. I want people who meet me to KNOW that I am what I say I am. To see that I believe what I say I believe-because I live it. I love my Father in Heaven. I love my Savior Jesus Christ. I'm grateful for his atoning sacrifice that allows me the opportunity to repent and be forgiven. I am grateful for the knowledge i have that God still communicates with us today-through scripture, through the Holy Ghost, & through modern day prophets and apostles. I am grateful for the knowledge we have that Family is Forever. I'm grateful for the hope & peace that this gospel has brought into my life.
