Hi I'm Julie

I am a mother, I am an artist, I am a Colorado Native. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of four wonderful kiddos and have loved staying home with them. My husband and I have been married for 12 years. I love learning new things. I am passionate about painting. I love to garden. I enjoy sports, teaching, reading and nature.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the church and was baptized at age eight. So I suppose the question could read, why am I still a member? I cherish my church membership because I know it is true. This knowledge came to me gradually as I experienced and immersed myself in the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ. Each time I have made an effort to sincerely live the gospel of Jesus Christ I have been blessed. I read the Book of Mormon for the first time as a teenager and it felt so good. I remember when I first began to make an effort to really pray to Heavenly Father and that felt wonderful. When I had questions and concerns and needed comfort. I have been able to find answers through prayer, scriptures and priesthood blessings. When I felt the need to repent, I felt so blessed by the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Each time I would attend church, and the youth activites and try to live the way I was being taught I felt increased peace and happiness. When I heard the words of the prophet it was the same way, like a fire inside. I began to know that Heavenly Father loves me, and knows me personally and has a plan for me. I gradually began to cherish and seek after those sweet feelings. My testimony has come over a lifetime of hearing the word, trying it out, and being blessed.

How I live my faith

I love living my faith! The way I use it most often is as a mother and a wife at home. The teachings of the church help me to focus on nurturing and sustaining the people that I love the most and remind me that they are the most important. The things I learn at church help me to know how to make my family one that can last forever and they encourage me to keep trying. Currently I am also serving with the young women ages 12-18 in our congregation. I get to help them plan weekly activities and participate with them on Sundays. It is so fun to watch them grow. I also love to take the other opportunities to serve that come up, such as teaching classes on Sunday and during other activities, I love giving talks in church and visiting with the other women. I try to be a good neighbor and citizen and be honest in all I do. On a personal level I try to read my scriptures daily and pray with a purpose and be ready to live each day the way our Savior wants me to. I love the feelings that come from really trying to follow the Savior in these many different facets of my life. It is wonderful that the gospel affects everything we do, not just at church!
