Hi I'm Wayne Bell

I'm a Mormon. After 37 years of marriage, I lost my wife to cancer. Little did I know what the Lord had in store for me.

About Me

I love being outdoors and have always loved nature. I hunt, fish, love the old West, tool leather, play golf, work on my ranch and love to be with my children (9) and grandchildren (13). I love my country. I am a veteran of Viet Nam. I married my childhood sweetheart. We met when I was 15 years old. I always new that I would marry her. We were married for 37 years and had 3 wonderful children. One day we were told that she had bone cancer and had 6 months to live. She actually battled for 6 years before it took her. My children were all married, I thought that my life was over. That was not the case....before my wife died she told me to find an old friend of hers who had lost her husband in a car accident. She told me that I needed to care for her and help her raise her 6 children. She even invited her to speak at her funeral. When I saw her I knew without a doubt that we were to be married and so we were. We have now been married for 7 wonderful years. We have meshed our two families together. We have had 4 temple weddings, 3 children put through college and 7 grandchildren born. We have more grandchildren to be born in the future. My life was so not over. I could only see part of the picture. Only the Lord sees our potential and what we can become. He does have a plan for us if we are willing to do what he ask. I am so blessed that I have been married to two great and wonderful women.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that it is the true Gospel of Jesus Christ restored on this earth. I was visited by two wonderful missionaries about 40 years ago. They ask me to study, ponder, and ask God of the truthfulness of what I had been told. My parents taught me to believe in Jesus Christ and his teaching. The Mormon Missionaries taught me that there was much more to know. They introduced me to the complete teachings of my Heavenly Father and told me of his plan for my safe return back to him. I did what they had instructed. I prayed and pondered. I felt a deep, burning assurance that these teaching were, indeed, true. Throughout my life I have felt my Heavenly Father's influence as I have tried to live all of the commandments he has given us. I have made some mistakes, but He has always been there. It would be very hard to imagine how difficult it would be to raise a family in this world we live in without my Heavenly Father's help. God is real, He is there to assist all of us if we but ask with a sincere heart. I am so thankful that I let the Mormon Missionaries into my home so many years ago. I have a special place in my Heart for those two young men. I have kept in touch with them through all of these years. I am also very grateful to my Heavenly Father for loving us so much that he sent his Son to die on the cross to take away our sins. I feel his love everyday of my life...

How I live my faith

Living my Faith is not something I do, it is who I am. It is engrained in every part of my being. Everyone around me knows that I am a Mormon. I volunteer to do whatever is needed within our congregation. I have helped lead our youth organizations, I have taught in our Sunday School, I have served as member of the administrative body to help several congregations, I have assisted our missionaries in their efforts to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world, and I have taught our Children. I have been a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America for over 35 years, and I have helped lead many United Way Campaigns for our community. I believe that we live our faith by serving others. That is the example that Christ set for us. We must help those around us, giving of our time and efforts to assist those in need. I love the feeling I get when someone just says "thank you". I love all of Gods children and believe that we were not intended to go through this life alone. We all need help, one time or another. We should freely provide that help if we can and when we do God will poor out his blessings on us.
