Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a high school drama kid. I'm homeschooled. I love travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a homeschooled teenage girl in a big city. I've lived in the same place pretty much my whole life. My parents are together, but my dad is working up in another city for the school year. So, we are spending certain weekends up there and the rest of the time here. I am in theatre, and have taken part in many different musicals and showcases. I've done jazz, modern, Irish step, hip hop (That was an adventure), and tap dance. I sing in both Broadway and church choirs. I take voice lessons. I love to travel, and have been to almost every U.S. state. I'm saving to see the rest of the world too. I LOVE history, and could spend all day reading history books. I also love reading the classics. I love Hugo, C.S. Lewis, Twain, Poe, and others. I am a teenager, so I have to have an obsession. I LOVE Owl City. I have every song he has ever released and I know every word. I've seen him in concert - twice. His lyrics are poetry, he USES language better than most people. I also love Disney movies and pretending I'm a princess or a pirate with the kids I babysit. I love to smile. I love being a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Honestly, I am a Mormon because of my parents. My dad's family are longtime members, and my mother is a convert. They brought me up in the Gospel and have taught me well. Still, I have had my own conversion. There came a day in my life when I realized I needed to be my own person. I was young, but I had always felt that Jesus WAS my Savior and I WAS a child of God. I did a trial run. I did everything you're "supposed" to do for several months. I read the Book of Mormon. I went to church with an open mind. I asked questions. I lived the standards. I prayed for answers. I got them. I now know without a doubt that this is Church of Jesus Christ in these latter days. I am a Mormon because he has given me so much, and I want to do all I can to give back to him. I love my Savior, and am grateful to have the Church in my life. I have seen miracles in my life and in the lives of others. I have seen the distance that comes from wandering. I am definitely not perfect, and have made mistakes, but I want everyone to know that I love my Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am a youth leader in my ward. I am the president of the "Laurels", the 16 and 17 year old girls. I am also a co-chairman on the committee of youth leaders for our "stake", or cluster of several congregations. I love to go to our weekly youth group to spend time with other LDS teenagers. I live my faith every school day by attending early morning "seminary", or scripture study class. It is a four year class that you take during high school. It's an awesome place to learn and study with my friends!
