Hi I'm Ric

I design schools, I'm an Architect and I'm Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm an Architect I design schools. I love to be a part of the creation process from the inception of an idea, translated to a computer program, transformed into steel, brick and morter, and finally occupied and enjoyed by it's end user. I'm also a Grandpa with 4 kids and 13 grandkids, 2 granddogs, and a grandturtle. My wife and children and their children are what motivates me, energizes me, and wears me out. As a young husband and father much time was spent in school and at the office. It was difficult to keep the balance between profession and family. Finally, over time, with the help of Harry Chappin's "Cats in the Cradle" (and my wife), I can say that no other success can compensate for failure in the home.

Why I am a Mormon

Patterns I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all my life. Since my early childhood in New Jersey I observed my parents and other members of the church serving one another. I was taught very early that the reason they did this was Jesus taught that was what we do. I was taught that my being here on earth was part of a glorious plan a loving God, my Heavenly Father had for me. I begain to realize that this world, every minute detail from the earthworm to the arora borealus was part of this glorious plan and that I may some day comprehend the majesty of that loving Father. As I matured I begain seeing patterns all about me. Patterns in nature, patterns in design, in mathmatics, music, art. The Pattern of love and the bonds of family took some time to realize but now as a Father I see the pattern much clearer. I believe God is truely my Father, that before my arrival as a babe in New Jersey, I lived in a familial relationship with all those that have inhabited the earth. We knew and worshiped our Heavenly Parents for they were worthy of being worshiped. I have come to know that I also had an older brother there, Jesus who was The Pattern for living as God lives. I'm a Mormon because I have learned for myself that my Father loves me, has allowed my loving older brother Jesus to be a pattern for me to follow. I have found that as I follow that pattern I leave a trail of light, peace, love and good memories that I will take back to my Father when I'm worn out from following that Pattern.

How I live my faith

Today I serve in the church as a Boy Scout Advisor in the Venturing Program for the boys 16 to 18 years old. As a Home Teacher I have been assigned three families to watch over along with one of my 16 year old boys. At least monthy we visit these three families to incourage, bless, teach, screw in light bulbs, and listen. It is my intent to wear out my life doing good to all. Christ was the pattern for the way I try to live my life. It is faith in Him that gives me the hope of living after this life, eventually being with my family throughout the eternities.
