Hi I'm Andrew Tarver

I'm a musician, a dreamer, I'm a Texan with a british accent, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I feel like life is all about doing what makes us happy. For me that is learning new things and growing as a person. The satisfaction that comes when you master a new skill is one of the most amazing things we can experience. I feel like if we are not learning something new or helping others learn something we are wasting time. I really enjoy music. There is so much feeling in music and so many emotions that you can share with others through how you play. The beat, notes, and lyrics of a song all add a different feeling. Music can be such a powerful influence for good or bad, and I feel that is why we need to choose music that up lifts us, and drives us to achieve the imposible in our own life. I have played the drums since I was about 14. Music is something that has helped me to make it through difficult times of my life as well as turned me into a dreamer. Nothing is impossible if we want it bad enough. Music has helped me to feel like I can do whatever I want even when every one else says its impossible and I hope that I will be able to do the same for others through my music.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm am Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints are firm believers that the purpose of life is to be happy, and we are all united through a common belief that obedience to the commandments of the gospel will help us gain a form of happiness that never ends. Life is hard sometimes, that is true for everyone, Mormons included, but the teachings that are contained in this church bring more comfort and purpose to suffering than anything else I have yet found, and I am confident that I will never find anything that will bring more comfort through adversity. I feel that good music can bring us nearer to God and more "in-touch" with his spirit. That while we are listening to uplifting music we can feel The Spirit of God confirm in our hearts and to our mind what we need to do to continue to progress spiritualy, physicaly, and mentaly. That through that same music God can send His Holy Spirit to uplift and strengthen us through the most difficult trying times that any human could face.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many different ways. Right now the most prodominent of those ways is that I've taken 2 years out of my life to serve a mission in Norway. I have the wonderfull opportunity to spend every single day for 2 years trying to spread the joy that I have found through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. When I'm not a missionary though I live my faith by reading the Book of Mormon and the Bible every day. Study of the scriptures combined with prayer will keep us spiritualy grounded and near to God. Making music that creates feelings of strength and courage for others is another way that I live my faith. The joy that comes through finishing a song that has an encouraging feel is amazing.
