Hi I'm Jodi

I am an artist, a mother, a wife and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have grown up in the church my whole life, but have gone through some hard times despite having the gospel in my life. I have had to go through divorces and be a single mom in the past, due to others choices and free agency. But I am now married to a wonderful man and friend that I grew up with in my hometown ward. We always wish we could have been brought together sooner, but it is a wonderful testimony builder that Heavenly Father does answer prayers in His own time. We love living life together and try to get the most out of it, making up for just getting together in our late 30's. We love hiking, camping, and exploring all around Arizona! At home I enjoy being a full time mom to our two teenagers and two fur babies. I am a full time artist, working mostly in hot glass, (blowing glass). I love color and exploring all different kinds of art. I have worked in ceramics, silver-smithing, pyrography, painting, and fiber art. I love doing things that touch on all of the senses. When I am in my studio I love listening to good music, burning incense, having all the doors and windows open, and just getting lost in the creation process. I also have a great love for learning new things and doing things with my own two hands. I enjoy being in nature as much as possible. I am intrigued with and love to learn about earth science, quantum physics, and astronomy. I am an identical twin. I LOVE my family, and I wouldn't be who I am or where I am today without them.

Why I am a Mormon

Heavenly Father has always been there for me, when sometimes man has not. He has given me strength to put one foot in front of the other when I couldn't see it possible to walk anymore. With each trial that I have gone through, I have come out happier and stronger on the other side. Heavenly Father has whispered comfort and peace to my heart in those times, and looking back, as hard as it felt for me to get through at the moment, He has led me right through those trials to exactly where I was supposed to end up. I know that He listens and hears our prayers, and as we stay faithful and strong He is able to answer them in time. He has directly answered many of my own prayers, and even given me personal witnesses that I can never deny to be true. He has given us life, free agency to choose, His words and prophets to help us along the way, and He never leaves us alone. Through His great and wise eternal plan for us, we can be forgiven of our sins through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. With His promises and ordinances we can be sealed together forever with our families. By living by His words and examples we can find such happiness and peace here on Earth. The gospel has given me hope, courage, faith, and a sense of belonging to His eternal family. My own family here on Earth is my greatest joy, and knowing that we will all be together forever, those who have come before and those that have yet to come, is the biggest strength to me, truly it will be heaven.

How I live my faith

I love my ward family! My husband and I enjoy being the ward librarians together! I have to to say it is the most fun I have ever had in a calling, and I hope we never get released! I am also the ward "correspondence specialist". This calling was made up brand new for our ever growing ward. I get to enjoy using my creative talents by creating handmade cards, and sending them out to anyone who might need a little note: a welcome to new members who just moved in, a warm "good-bye" for those moving out, a congratulations for new babies or a great talk or some new accomplishment, a word of encouragement for those going through trials, etc. It is just one wonderful way for our ward to stay connected. That extra little touch that might bring a needed smile, or sense of belonging, knowing that your ward family is there for you! I also love serving as a visiting teacher, and have had fun becoming friends with the ladies I have taught.
