Hi I'm Steven

I grew up in Arizona. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing sports. I currently am playing city league co-rec softball, and indoor soccer. I LOVE basketball! I play anytime I get the chance. I have a few quads and go out riding often. I'm currently a student studying to work in the medical field as a Nurse Anesthetist.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an Mormon family, but I lived in an area where there we few Mormons. When I was a teenager, my family moved to Mesa AZ, which is heavily populated with Mormons. I was not really into the spiritual things when I was younger and wasn't sure I believed in God at all for most of my youth. When I was 18 years old, I had no LDS friends. About one week after I graduated from high school, I became friends with a few LDS guys, and started spending most of my free time with them. I noticed I was happier than I had ever been. One friend invited me to go on a church activity, and and later on church. I went on occasion, and started going regularly to church and other church related activities. I noticed every day that I was happier than before, but I still didn't know if I believed in God. It's hard to explain how I came to believe, but I can tell you that what converted me was the story of Joseph Smiths first vision and the Book of Mormon. I served a full time mission in Ireland from 00-02 from the age of 19-21. I believe In Jesus Christ. I can't say I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, but I can say that I know that Jesus is the Christ more than I know anything else. I believe the Book of Mormon and the Bible to be the word of God. I believe that through Joseph Smith, Gods Church was restored to the earth. I am greatful for repentance, and through Jesus Christ we can all be forgiven for any of the mistakes we've made. I'm greatful for the friends that I have and the exapmles they set for me to help me to be the best person that I can be.

How I live my faith

I start my day with prayer. Then I read my scriptures. I do my best to be an example to those around me. Though I'm far from perfect, all of my coworkers know I'm LDS and what I stand for. I do my best to attend my church meeting everyweek. On Monday night, my ward has an activity for single people to meet each other and have fun, called "family home evening."
