Hi I'm Bob

I am a husband, father and grandfather of 28. I am an avid steelhead and fly fisherman, former LAPD officer and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. (Mormon) I grew up in North Hollywood, California. When I was 19 years old I volunteered to serve as a missionary for the church. I served in the Guatemala-El Salvador mission for 2 years. Upon my return from Central America, I met and married my wife and also joined the Los Angeles Police Department. We have been married for 39 years. We have 5 children, all married, and 25 (and counting) grandchildren. We have lived in the beautiful northwest for the past 30 years. I love everything about the outdoors, but especially fishing for steelhead and salmon and flyfishing for trout. I love to spend time outdoors with my wife, children and grandchildren and help them enjoy the beauty of our natural world.

Why I am a Mormon

As a teenager in my last years of high school, I realized that I was most happy when I was living my life in accordance with the principals taught by Jesus Christ. I had a desire to share this knowledge with others and in doing so, I came to know with confidence that Jesus is the Christ and that His gospel had been restored to the earth and was available to all people. Being a Mormon has led me to be a better husband and father and grandfather. It has taught me to serve my fellowman and has brought peace and purpose to my life. One of the most comforting doctrines that the Savior taught was about repentance. I am a Mormon because I believe that the through the Attonement of Jesus Christ, I can receive forgiveness of my sins. I am a Mormon because I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth in these, the latter-days. I am a Mormon because I believe that by following the teachings found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ I can find happiness in this life and great joy in the next.

How I live my faith

As a Mormon I try to follow the example of Jesus Christ in all that I do. I live my faith by serving others, just as He did. My wife and I serve as managers of a facility called ,"The Bishops' Storehouse". This is a type of food bank that provides food and other essential commodities to those in need. We also serve together in our local Temple. A temple is a sacred building where we worship our Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ. We make special covenants or promises in these Temples. We receive sacred ordinances, including those that bind husband and wife together for eternity, as well as join children and parents. My experience has taught me that when I make a promise to be obedient and God promises to bless me, He never fails to keep His word. On Sundays, I teach a Sunday School class called, Gospel Doctrine. I spend time during the week preparing lessons and I feel that I am richly blessed as I study the Gospel of Jesus Christ and teach it to others.
