Hi I'm David

I am an IT Director. I coach youth soccer. I am a Scout Master. I grew up in Lakeside, AZ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Arizona. I loved going down to Phoenix to go to the mall and see the BIG city. When I went away to college, I went to Arizona State University to get away from the small town. I met my wife at church in Mesa, AZ. After we had kids, I decided living in a small town wasn’t so bad after all. I found a job in a nearby town and was able to move back home. I now have four kids, all boys. They are awesome and very active in sports, school activities and just life in general. I love spending time with them and with my wife, of course. We live in my grandparents’ old house. We have an orchard and a garden. Life is great!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS faith. My parents were very committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ and taught me the importance of Christ in my life. At the age of nineteen, I went on a mission to Spain. I loved meeting and working with the Spanish people. It is a beautiful country and a beautiful language. I also love reading the scriptures. We read them as a family when I was growing up, and my wife and I read them with our kids now. Not only has this helped them to get to know their Savior, it has also helped them be better readers. If they can read and understand the Bible, they can read and understand just about anything. I feel that it is important to share what I know about my Savior, because I have been so greatly blessed and want others to experience this same happiness. Jesus Christ is real. He really does live. He was killed on a cross and then was resurrected three days later. He suffered for all of our sins. I have accepted Him as my savior and hope that you will do the same.

How I live my faith

In our church, we are taught to care for one another. After someone joins the church they are assigned a Home Teacher, someone who will look after them and visit them on a regular basis. They are also as a Home Teacher, so that they can in turn look after others and make sure their needs are met. I am a Home Teacher, and currently, with my companion, we visit and look after three other families. I am a scout leader. I work with 11 year-old boys and help them to learn the principles of Scouting and the importance of God in their lives and the value of integrity. I am an assistant to the Stake President in this area. I help him to coordinate his schedule so that he can make visits and teach throughout the area on a regular basis. I attend Sunday meetings to help keep my testimony of Jesus Christ strong. We hold a family home evening on a weekly basis where we sing, read scripture stories and play games as a family. We pray and read scriptures on a daily basis and try to have at least one meal together as a family each day so that we can regroup as a family and keep on top of each others wants and needs.
