Hi I'm Heather

I'm a Mormon. I've moved around alot in the Southwest United States. I was born into the church.

About Me

I'm a mother of 4 children. I stay at home with my kids and try to balance time with them and all the other demands on my time. I enjoy biking, reading, quilting, and playing the piano. Lately I've been working hard to keep up with our garden, by canning pickles and green beans. I enjoy meeting new people and making new friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but gained a testimony little by little by going to church, reading scriptures, and from family home evening. When I was in junior high, I remember reading the Book of Mormon and praying whether it was true or not and having a warm peaceful feeling. I questioned my beliefs in highschool, when I saw other mormons not living up to our standards. I realized how important the church was to me, when a friend mentioned that I no longer seemed happy. I repented and felt the joy and peace that living the gospel brings. I've realized that people aren't perfect and I need to live the commandments the best I can. I have had a strong testimony in the church ever since. In college, I was able to help a lot of people around me who were struggling with their testimonies because I had a firm testimony in the church. I know that Jesus Christ died for us, so that we can repent and live with him again. I know that Heavenly Father listens and answers our prayers. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet.

How I live my faith

I play the piano for the children when they are learning songs in primary. There is a sweet spirit there with them. I also call people to see if they visited the women in our ward that they are assigned to look after and to see if they need any help. I also write a paragraph once a month about how we can teach our children about Jesus Christ and the scriptures in family home evening. I strive to say morning and evening prayers and read my scriptures daily. I teach my children about the scriptures and teach them church songs each night before bed. My husband and I take turns teaching our children about the church in family home evening. We go to the temple and remember the promises we made there. The church is a great blessing in my life because I know that I am a child of God, and what I do matters to Him.
