Hi I'm Tori

I'm a wife and a sometimes frazzled, sometimes put together, mom of four and...I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married to my best friend for ten years. I have three crazy boys and a (mostly) sweet little girl. I spend my days cooking, cleaning, changing diapers and trying to keep up with 4 little tornadoes. Although life as a stay-at-home-mom is challenging, the slobbery kisses and big hugs make it all worth it. Some of my favorite moments with my family are when we turn the music up real loud and dance like crazy. My kids are young enough to still think my dance moves are "really cool". I'm a night owl who enjoys taking walks, reading (something other than picture books if possible) and taking a nap any chance I get, which isn't nearly often enough. I love to cook healthy meals for my family and friends and enjoy quality time with the ones I love more than just about anything else.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Mormon Church from birth. I was taught from a very young age what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. My parents and church leaders instilled in me values that have shaped who I am today. I was taught to have faith, be honest, dress modestly, treat others with kindness, seek wholesome media and good friends; to name just a few. I avoided many of the pitfalls of youth by holding to those values and to my faith in Jesus Christ. Today, as a mother, I try to instill in my own children those same values and a love for the Savior. I am part of a faith that teaches that families can be eternal and I believe, with all of my heart, that that is true. Over the course of my life I have grown to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord's church on the earth today. That knowledge has come from doing my best to live the commandments and by trusting in my Savior and His Atonement when I fall short. It has come by listening to the living Prophets and gaining strength and knowledge from the scriptures. I am a Mormon because I know that God lives. His Son, Jesus Christ, gave His life for me and that His church is upon the earth today; the church that I am so thankful, everyday, to be a part of.

How I live my faith

I have spent the last seven years serving the youth in my church in some capacity. Currently, I am a Den Leader to a group of 18 Cub Scouts! They can be wild and crazy but they are such good boys who know and want to do what's right. I love the scouting program and what it teaches young boys and how it reinforces so many of the values that are taught in the church. It can be a struggle balancing the demands of family life and also serving in the church. However, I know that when I serve the Lord, in whatever capacity He asks of me, I am greatly blessed. And I know the blessings I receive far outweigh any sacrifice I make.
