Hi I'm Liz

I'm a fiction novelist, really into sword fighting, creative basket-weaving, swimming with sharks and I'm a Mormon....

About Me

Oh okay, not really.... While some of those first things I said may not be true, they sure sounded great didn't they? While my real life may not sound as interesting as some others, it certainly keeps me on my toes and keeps our home filled with love. I love being a mom, and spend most of my hours raising two wonderful girls and two boys. I have been married to my husband for 11 fun-filled years. I started taking pictures at home with my kids, and found that I enjoyed it so much I decided to take pictures of others. I have since become a natural light family photgrapher. It gives me a great creative outlet, and the benefits are great!. While I may not be Ansel Adams, I find joy in finding the light.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know it is true. It is as simple as that, though I did not always have as strong a conviction as I do right now. It has been a process, a learning journey. All kids have questions and search; most don't know what to look for. The gospel afforded me the answer to what I should be searching for, what I should be yearning for and where to look to find it. My parents shared the Gospel with me from a young age, and I joined with them in earnest, following their great examples. As my youth advanced I was faced with those challenges, curiosities and intersts that others faced, and had some similar questions. I had great leaders who told me to ask for my own answer. I found my answers through prayer and the Book of Mormon. The Church and prophets teach us to to "search, ponder and pray" I was able to put that challenge to the test and get my own answer as I know all can as well. Now I have a firm testimony of the truth as it has been restored. Jesus Christ is my Savior and died for my sins and those of the World, and it is is through Him that we can all return to our Heavenly Father again. I know that Joseph Smith was a prohet of God and restored the Gospel on the Earth again for us in these latter-days. I know that we have a living prophet today that leads and guides the Church today and that I am able to hear and receive revelation from our Heavenly Father for myself, to lead and guide me to the truth. I'm a Mormon because I know it is true. It gives me peace, hope and direction in a world filled with chaos and questions. In a world filled with darkness I choose to find the light.

How I live my faith

I find joy in serving others. We often find that the most joyous experiences in life are those that are filled in serving those around us. I have enjoyed working with children, youth and doing family history work. And I also think it's fun sharing my great experiences with creative basket-weaving (wink!).
