Hi I'm Jake

I am a Father, Husband, and sometimes a successful fisherman. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 3 and been married for over 10 years. I like most sports but my favorite sport is football. I played in high school but decided not to pursue it into college. I now am working full time but I am looking for something better to support my family and save for the future. Times have been tough for us as we have recently lost our home of 5 years to foreclosure. Despite our recent trials we look forward to a brighter future.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that this religion has answers to lifes tough questions and because I feel good when I attend church meetings and the temple. I believe that God is my Heavenly Father and that he loves me despite my shortcomings. I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that he died so that I might be forgiven and return one day to live with my Heavenly Father again. I look forward to the day I may be reunited with my grandparents who recently passed away. I believe in eternal marriage and the sealing power of the priesthood which makes it possible to be with my family forever as long as I keep my covenants that I made to God in the holy temple. I know that anyone can have these blessings if they have faith and take the steps necessary to join this church. This church can help bring true happiness in this life, happiness that lasts forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying, reading my scriptures, and living a righteous life. I am not perfect at it but I try and sometimes that is enough. I attend church meetings regularly and teach and discuss gospel topics with other fathers and men my own age. I also provide service to other members as needed to ensure needs are met. When I help others I feel good and look forward to helping as I can. I also enjoy discussing gospel topics with friends and coworkers.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

I was a missionary and I would yell you that the missionaries will help you understand the teachings of the church and help you take steps to investigate what Mormons are about and answer any questions you might have in the process. They're job is not to convert you and force you to believe what they say but help you find out for yourself if what they teach is true. Do not be afraid to ask the tough questions they may be young but they can help you find the answers through prayer and faith. Show more Show less
