Hi I'm Ashley

I love the exciting rush you experience when you step into a show arena with your horse. My name is Ashley, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up mainly in a small farming town in Tennessee (USA). I am a wife of nearly 6 years to a handsome man and mother to an athletic little boy. I have ridden, trained and showed horses for many years of my life and feel at home in the saddle. I have also competed in Martial Arts - and hold rankings in various styles, including a 3rd Degree Black Belt (Sam Dan) in Tae Kwon Do. I am a registered Polysomnographer (RPSGT), known more commonly as a Sleep Therapist, or technician. As an RPSGT I give my prognosis and treat various sleep disorders, such as Apnea, Narcolepsy and Insomnia. I love my little family and can't wait to see what the years to come will bring. We just moved from the humid and lush Tennessee to the dry and hot Arizona in 2011 for my husband to complete his MBA. What a change of scenery! We are having fun in this new chapter of our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Well, I have been raised in the Gospel since an infant, and cannot recall a time not wanting to attend church. As a teenager I can remember personally witnessing the miracle of a priesthood blessing, and the rewards I have a seen from following the counsel of keeping the Sabbath day Holy. However there came a time in my life, as an adult, that I had to really ask myself why I was attending church, why I was obeying these seemingly strict rules and was all this for real, or was I simply a victim of a very believable fairytale. I can testify that through reading the Old and New Testaments more than once, as well as the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price that my mind has been open and my intellect greatly enlarged. Questions I had have been answered, and by reading diligently more questions have arise and even more answers have been given. The gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is guided by the Lord through a living Prophet. I know this to be true by reading the scriptures and by sincerely wanting to know and not be satisfied with "it's just the way it is". I am a Mormon because I sought, asked and studied to know answers to specific questions and I found them.

How I live my faith

Being involved with Martial Arts I am always around more men than women. I try to live my faith by not only dressing appropriately but also in my language and comments I say. I have found many would censor their discussions or words when around me, showing a respect for who I am and believe in. Since my husband is attending an International MBA program we have had the opportunity to meet many individuals from other cultures and faiths. Over time they have asked many questions about our belief just by our daily actions. We have had many over for different activities in our home and by the various Gospel related decorating more questions have come about, with great discussions! I try to live my faith in just living. In my dress, speech, handling of situations and overall demeanor I try and represent a feeling of peace - because that is what the Gospel has given me.
