Hi I'm Seth Seaman

I grew up in Arizona. I'm an Engineer. I'm a father of four beautiful daughters. I'm married to my best friend.

About Me

I'm a husband. I am fortunate to be married to my best friend. She is my favorite person! I'm a father. We have four beautiful daughters! Our oldest is three. The next three all came at the same time; they're just over 18 months old now. I simply adore every single one of them. They've got me wrapped around each of their little fingers. I'm an engineer. I'm pretty much a jack of all trades at work, but my work tends to revolve around the disciplines of electrical and mechanical engineering. I enjoy my work. I love the outdoors! I love photography. I could go on and on, but I think I can sum it all up with a basic satisfaction I get being involved in the act of creation; or in bringing order to chaos. A great man once used to say "to create is happiness - to destroy is misery".

Why I am a Mormon

Quite frankly I'm a member of this church because of how I was raised. I was born of a terrific mother and father and naturally wanted to follow in their footsteps. I was baptized a member of the church when I was eight years old. The reason I'm still a member? I have found the truth and can't get enough of it. There's an infinite amount of truth yet to discover. And beyond the truth is what it leads me to; a rewarding and fulfilling relationship with my Father in Heaven through his Son, Jesus Christ. I hear his voice from time to time and enjoy the benefit of personal instruction from Him through the Holy Ghost. I believe that by that Spirit we can know the truth of all things - secular or spiritual. Aside from receiving personal instruction via the Spirit, the other indispensable way I "listen" to the voice of the Father and the Son is by reading their words in the scriptures, which for me include the Bible and the Book of Mormon. My studies therein lead me to an understanding of why I am here on earth. I have a clear understanding of what the purpose of life is and where I can return to after this life if I make the choice to live accordingly. That said, I can't say enough about the Book of Mormon. Point blank, that book is the keystone of my faith. The Bible has never had a truer friend that the Book of Mormon. The two records establish each other and clarify the gospel of Christ in its purity. Both of those books are true. How do I know? The Spirit whispers this to me. That same spirit that testifies of Christ as our Savior tells me the Bible and the Book of Mormon are true.

How I live my faith

It may sound trite, but a song I learned growing up in Sunday School illustrates my goal. Simply put, I'm trying to be like Jesus in all that I do and say. Whether at work, home or church, the gospel of the Master always applies. I'm far from perfect, but I'm sure Jesus understood that when he told us all that we are to be even as He is. Think good thoughts. Do good things. Love God and love your neighbor as yourself. All told, it's not rocket science - that is, if we can remember from moment to moment what we're striving for.
