Hi I'm Heidi

A am married to the most wonderful man in the world. I am the mother of 3 amazing children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music. I play the piano and we love to sing together. My husband and I met while serving as missionaries for our church. We have 3 great children. I worked as a registered nurse until I had my children; now I serve as the office manager for my husband's psychology office. I love that I can be home for my kids after school, yet I can work with him. I also enjoy cooking, working on scrapbooks, traveling and playing games. I love to be with my family and friends....that is what makes me really happy.

Why I am a Mormon

Originally, I was a Mormon because my parents were. I always felt good about the church and never doubted it. However, when I was 12 years old, I was challenged in church to read the Book of Mormon and find out for myself if it is true. I read the book and felt good about it. I love the part when Jesus comes to visit the people after He is resurrected. After I read the book I prayed to know if it was true. I really wanted to know for myself and not just because I had been taught it was true. With our group of youth, I went to a play about the Book, and Joseph Smith. I felt an assurance and peace in my heart that what I had read was true. I felt good about it and happy about it. I didn't fully understand it but I felt that it was true. I knew that the Holy Ghost, or Holy Spirit, was testifying if truth to me. in 1 Corinthians, of the Bible it teaches us that the fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace.... those are feelings that I had. I came to know that the Spirit was confirming the truth of the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith to me. In turn, I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I cannot deny the feelings that I have had confirming truth. My life is not perfect but I have great peace knowing of the truth and where I can find answers to help me through the difficulties of life. Continue to be blessed with the Spirit to guide me in truth and through troubled times. I know we have a living prophet on the earth today, Thomas S. Jonson. By that same peace and joy of the Spirit that He is a man called of God to guide and direct us today. I have been in the presence of great latter day prophets and have felt an overwhelming love from then, my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. The Prophet is truly a man inspired by God, who is on this earth to guide us in truth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a good person. I do my best to try and serve those who are in need. I try to look for opportunities to do this each day, without being told. Christ was a great example of service, even to giving his life. I try to teach this to my family, by example, and try to teach my children to act as Christ would. We are not perfect but we try to do good things and be kind. I dress modestly to show respect for my body. I also refrain from drugs, alcohol and other harmful substances. By attending my church meetings and performing service in the church I also liv my religion. In the church I currently serve the youth ages 3-11, who are in our geographic area, called a stake. I help them learn about Jesus Christ and His gospel on the earth today. We provide opportunities for the children to feel the influence of the Holy Ghost so that they may know for themselves that they are beloved Children of God and that he has a plan for them. All of us can know for ourselves of the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loves every one and wants us to be happy and return to live with Him some day.
