Hi I'm Liz

I love beaches, I'm a people watcher and a willing volunteer, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

Having grown up in southern California, I’ve always loved and appreciated a good, sandy beach. Living in western Washington for the past 27 years has developed in me an appreciation for tall-green trees, ferns, moss covered anything, and rugged-wild coastlines. Music has always played a special part in my life, I’ve learned that if sacred music fails to touch me, I’ve moved too far away from God and I go to work to correct that. I’ve been married to a wonderful man for 30 years. Together we have four grown children and ten grandchildren. My life has revolved around my family and my faith. Efforts to create a home that is welcoming and safe, volunteering and being involved in whatever aspect of my children’s lives that fit best, and being an active and contributing member of my congregation and community have all presented their challenges and joys. The joys have been more than worth all the challenges!

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born and raised in a home where the gospel of Jesus Christ was embraced and lived and taught, I have done my own searching and have claimed it as my own and have encouraged my children to find out for themselves. Being a Mormon has inspired me to learn of my Savior, to love and serve my fellow beings, to stretch toward being my best self, and to allow Christ to refine me and add His power to my feeble efforts. Truly, the gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed my life and the lives of my family. I celebrate seeing in the homes of my children, efforts to teach and raise outstanding, moral, God-fearing citizens.

How I live my faith

Throughout my life I have taken the opportunity to serve in various positions in the church organization. These have allowed and encouraged me to study, learn, stretch my capacities and grow. Nothing is so rewarding and feeding as seeing hearts softened and changed, lights come on in souls, testimonies planted and strengthened, and desires to be better and do good ignited. I see this life as a concentrated chance to learn heaven. Every day I try to seize chances to love, serve, yield, submit, be humble, to act with faith, forgive and to be forgiven.
