Hi I'm Lori
I am in love with pretty paper, gardens, my husband and family, serving great food, and epic books. I am a Mormon.
I grew up in southern California and northern Arizona. I attended Arizona State University, Mesa Community College, and University of Phoenix. (I had to leave ASU when I joined the church, so that I could work and support myself through the rest of college...my parents couldn't separate support of me from support of the church and declined to help me with college once I became a Mormon.) I earned my BS in Accounting, and worked for small and large banking institutions for 22 years in business banking, construction lending, and technology finance. My husband and I have a blended family, 2 of his kids and my only child live between us and their other parents. It's a challenge but we are committed to helping and loving each other through the good and the not-so-good. I love to be involved in projects: home crafting, organizing parties, paper crafts, and sewing. There isn't much I won't try...except maybe making a purse out of Capri Sun containers. :)
Why I am a Mormon
I am a Mormon because I didn't have a strong/close family growing up, and I wanted that so much for my own family some day. It was worth everything to me to be able to have a family centered on Christ and unified in their faith. I saw the difference it made in families around me, and I knew it was the best decision I could make to help me have the family I wanted someday.
How I live my faith
I am committed to my faith through thick and thin. There are times it's easy to blame life's challenges on anything possible, and allow faith to slip. I try to turn toward my faith even more when facing tough times. Surrounding myself with friends who believe what I do helps me to know how much Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to be happy. It gives me so much strength and keeps my roots firmly planted in the Gospel.
