Hi I'm Kevin

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In a nutshell, I'm a husband, a dad, a twin, and an engineer. I like to take things apart, understand them at the lowest possible level, and then put them back together - layer by layer. A current hobby is emergency preparedness - be it through Boy Scouts, HAM radio, CERT, or medical training, I like to ready myself for the unexpected. In efforts to round myself out (talent wise), I dabble in playing the recorder, folk dance, microcontroller programming, and rollerblading.

Why I am a Mormon

I have my 5 senses that help me analyze my surrounding each day. I fine tune my reaction to each one as time passes. Well, as this time has elapsed, I realize that I have another sense inside me that prompts me in my choices. As I pay attention to this feeling and how it's shaped my life - regarding family, work, making decisions, allocating my time - I've come to appreciate and embrace the strength I get from this sense - these promptings. It's because of this that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I don't just think it's what I need to be doing; I know it is - due to this guidance I receive.

How I live my faith

I participate in the church setting through my role as executive secretary to the local bishop. I actively visit 3 assigned families each month to check on their well-being. I enjoy helping others and providing the same opportunity to others. I take my involvement to the community through my participation in a HAM radio ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) group, as a member of a local CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) group, and as a volunteer to take available medical training.
