Hi I'm Jen

I'm a wife, mother, and homemaker. I love volunteering in our community & help my husband run our business. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in the Pacific Northwest my entire life. We have chosen to stay here and raise our family in this beautiful part of the world. We love the outdoors and enjoy spending time as a family outside having fun. We are blessed to be surrounded with amazing, good people. Some share our faith and some don't. I truly love our neighbors, I love working with ALL the many children I get to help with in our public schools and I feel so privileged to have such a blessed life! I am a mother of 4 beautiful children. I decided to give up a career to stay home with them. Many of my days are a blur chasing after them and their busy schedules, but my husband and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Why I am a Mormon

My father grew up in the church and my mother converted when she was a teenager. Due to some of their life choices they fell away from the gospel. When I was a little girl my mother felt a void in her life and was brave enough to drag 4 young children to many different churches to find out what she was missing. As a little girl I immediately felt the love of my Savior in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Though my parents had to work to become "re-activated" my testimony, though small in my childhood never faltered. As I grew and studied more on my own I knew how good I felt when I made good choices and kept the Lord's commandments. Though I certainly made my share of mistakes, I always knew I could return to the Lord and be forgiven. I have studied to know for myself that Jesus Christ lived and still does. That he is part of a great plan for us to return to our Father in Heaven. He loves me and each one of us. I have read the Book of Mormon and asked the Lord if it is a true book. I have asked the Lord if Joseph Smith was really the man that he chose to restore his gospel to the Earth. I know by the feelings I have received through the Holy Ghost that the church he established; The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lords church today. I am blessed to have a strong, faithful companion, who shares the same views about the Lord as I do. The road is not always easy, but we know that our Heavenly Father will always take care of us and we are happier when we obey him.

How I live my faith

When my husband and I were first married, we decided together that we would make it a priority to always attend our Sunday church meetings regularly and became very involved in our congregations. Once we made that decision it came easy to us and we have been grately blessed spiritually and temporally. I am very aware that others in our community know we are Mormon and often watch us to see if we truly live the way they know Mormons are "supposed" to. I strive to really view my neighbors, the kids in the school that I do volunteer work with, everyone I come in contact with as the Savior would see them. I have the opportunity to work in the youth program. I help the Young Women, ages 14-15, organize their youth group activities as well as teach them lessons on Sundays. It is often a sacrifice to take time away from my family while I attend weekly activites or other planning meetings, but I do it because I know it is where the Lord would have me serve now. I do it because I strive to see these young girls as the Lord sees them and I want them to feel his love for them and know their great value.
