Hi I'm Alan

I grew up in Southeast Idaho, living on a farm. I graduated from BYU in Mechanical Engineering, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised on a small farm in South East Idaho. I remember hoeing Sugar Beets, hauling hay and milking Cows, when I was a youth. It kept me very busy, but it has been a benefit to me. I feel as if I am a better employee from what I learned on the farm as a youth. I was able to serve a full time Mission for the Church in Missouri. I had some very Spiritual experiences during that time that has strengthened my belief in the church that has helped me stay close to the Church. I was also able to marry a wonderful lady that has also helped strengthen me within the church and help me reach my goals within my career. I am a father of 7 children, and they are a true joy to me in my life. I enjoy back packing with my family and spending time with my wife. I look forward to serving another Mission for the Church with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I do truly believe that the Church has the fullness of Christ's Gospel. What that means to me is that when Christ was on the earth he set his gospel up with true principals and ordnances. Now in this day and time the Church has once again been restored with that same gospel and ordnances as Christ set it up when He was on the Earth. I believe that we have a Prophet on the Earth today to help guide and direct us. We are all trying to do the best that we can with the knowledge that we have, and as we have Christ's light in our lives, we can be happier and make the correct choices. The Church with the Gospel and the Prophet can help us choose the correct path in our lives. The Church is there to help us return to live with our Father In Heaven. I have seen the impact of the Church in people lives and improve their lives and bring them closer to Christ.

How I live my faith

I really enjoy serving in the Church. At this time I am a leader over our Ward or congregation, I am called the Bishop of the Ward. It is a great opportunity for me to be able to talk to and help give direction to people in their lives. I have had some great blessings, seeing Christ come back into people lives and see the change in people. I have seen people’s lives become so much happier and they become better off both spiritually and temporally. I also get to work a lot with the Youth of the Church, this is such a great joy. I am seeing the youth grow and become strong within the Gospel, it is a great honor to be able to be a part of their lives and to see them follow Christ. The youth have so many temptations during this time and I have see how the Church can make such a large impact in their lives. Serving in the Church is one of the greatest joys in my live.
