Hi I'm Dale

I grew up in Idaho. I'm a Pharmacist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love sports. I enjoy lifting weights and running for exercise. I even ran a half marathon. I enjoy science and medicine. I graduated from Idaho State University with a degree in pharmacy. I love to travel with my wife. We enjoy scuba diving especially in the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Fiji. We enjoy beautiful sunsets and dinners by candlelight. We enjoy getting together with our four children and their children and having swimming parties and barbecue's. I enjoy spending time helping others who are less fortunate. Some years back I became involved with a charity that helps the less fortunate in South America. It has been a very rewarding experience to help them monetarily and physically in the construction of water systems, medical clinics, schools, libraries, and other facilities. I have also enjoyed translating their language for those who only speak English.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon. I was baptized when I was eight years old. Since my baptism I have seen what life is like within the Church and outside the Church. I have spoken with many people of many religions over the years. I have only found the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to contain all the elements of God's true Church. Many religions have lots of the necessary pieces and wonderful people, but I could never discover in them all of the pieces that were necessary to form a complete image of what the gospel of Jesus Christ should look like. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints answers all the questions in a way that not only makes sense but feels right. I love knowing that we have a roadmap to return to live with God. I have an assurance of why I am here on earth, the value of the trials and difficulties I have to endure, and the happiness the gospel gives me when I am obedient to His commandments. The Church supports me in my goals to be a good husband and father.

How I live my faith

I enjoy working with young men who are advancing in the scouting program. I have particularly enjoyed helping them work on merit badges( I am a merit badge counselor) and eagle scout projects. I have gone with them to visit nursing homes to sing Christmas carols and play games. It is amazing how much fun young men and women can have playing bingo with those who can't get out. I have enjoyed projects to beautify our community parks like garbage clean up, trimming bushes, and spreading decorative rocks. I love helping single ladies in our neighborhood with sprinkler systems, trimming and mowing, painting, and putting up Christmas lights. I regularly visit members of our church to see if there is anything that I can do to help them physically or spiritually.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Sundays are set aside specifically for worship of our Father in Heaven. We want to wear our "Sunday best". That usually includes modest dresses for the women, and suits, or slacks and tie for the men. Members of the Church celebrate regional and national holidays where they live. To me of particular importance is Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving. Christmas and Easter because of the birth and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and Thanksgiving because of the many blessings I enjoy. We also celebrate birthdays (less so the older I get) and anniversaries. I also enjoy bosses day at work! Show more Show less
