Hi I'm Vikki.

I'm a wife, a mother, and an outdoors enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love running, hiking, and many other activities that involve the outdoors and nature. Being in nature in the midst of all of God's beautiful creations truly inspires me. I also enjoy reading, cooking, painting, making jewelry, and being creative. I have done many things in my life including running marathons, hiking challenging mountains, and graduating with a degree in finance, but what I would consider my greatest joys and accomplishments in my life center around my family. I love being a wife to my soul-mate and a mother to my sweet son and to my daughter who is on her way. My husband is my best friend. My life became complete when I met him. I never knew I could love anyone as much as I love my husband. And now that we are bringing children into the world, my love only continues to grow for both my husband and my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family in which both of my parents were already members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS church). When I was eight years old I just naturally followed their examples and was baptized a member of the Church as well. Through growing up as a Mormon, I developed a testimony that cannot be shaken. Sometimes the best way to gain a testimony of the verity of something is through practicing that which you are trying to gain a testimony of. This definitely worked for me. I know that the LDS Church is true. I know that Jesus is the Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and the word of God, along with the Bible. I know that through the sealing ordinances performed our temples I can be with my family through all of the eternities. I am so grateful for the peace, the comfort, and the joy that the gospel brings into my life. I can't imagine where I would be or what my life would be like if I weren't a member of this Church. I love being a member of the LDS church. This is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have served in my church in many different areas. One of the most rewarding areas of service for me was as the president of my local congregation's women's organization. This position required an immense amount of work on my part, but the more I gave of myself, the more my Father in Heaven blessed me in my life. The love I felt for the women I was serving amazed me. Service is a great way to bring you closer to those you are serving. I have also been an instructor for this same organization for many years. This has been a great blessing in my life as it has allowed me to learn a great deal more about the gospel and what our Church teaches. Being an instructor has also helped me to strengthen my testimony. I have also served for many years as a visiting teacher. With visiting teaching, we are assigned to visit 2 or 3 ladies in our congregation and teach them a lesson every month in their home. Through visiting teaching, great friendships often develop and the visiting teacher because so much more than just a teacher. They become someone that you can turn to when you are in need, even when that need is just for a friend. Through serving I have been able to catch a small glimpse of how much our Savior, Jesus Christ, loves each one of us. His life and death were the greatest acts of service that have been performed for mankind. I am grateful to be a member of His Church and to have the opportunity to try to give back, although it is so small in comparison to what He gave us, by serving those around me.
