Hi I'm Steven

I'm an LDS Missionary, a BYU student, and a lover of Football, Basketball, and Soccer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a college student, studying Physiology and Developmental Biology at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I am hoping to become a doctor one day in the future. I enjoy playing board games and card games with my family and friends, and love sports of all kinds. I am an enthusiastic learner, and love to help people if I can. I recently returned from serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kobe, Japan from August 2013 to April 2015. Being a missionary was a great privilege and a wonderful opportunity. I learned so much about myself and about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was able to see people change and overcome their challenges through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I was able to experience that change for myself as well. As a result, I have made a commitment to continually strive to become a True Disciple of Christ. Faith works. Miracles do happen. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." (Phil 4:13)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in this gospel. I feel that this church is the true church because I have had it testified unto me time and time again. I have read the scriptures and felt the powerful testimony that they hold in their pages. I have prayed to my Father in Heaven, earnestly seeking to know if this church was true, if the scriptures were really the word of God, and if He was there. I say unto you, HE IS. God is our Heavenly Father. He loves us, and cares for us. He wants us to return to Him. He has provided a way for us to return to Him, and if we but follow His Son, Jesus Christ and continue faithfully to the end, we will be able to return and live with God again. God is real. He is as real as you or I, and He loves us dearly. He hears and answers our prayers, and He will let us know of the truth through the Spirit. We can ask any question of Him, because He knows the answer. I am a Mormon because I have decided for myself that this is the true church. I am a Mormon because I know that there is a purpose to this life, and because I know that I can live with my family forever. I am a Mormon because of the experiences I have had. I am a Mormon because I choose to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the admonition of the Savior: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:19) I am a missionary, teaching the people of Japan about Jesus Christ. When not a full-time missionary, I live my faith everyday in the things that I do: perform service to others, help others with difficult times, and be a good example to others I know. I strive to always be happy and to always have a smile on my face. I try to befriend those who don't have as many friends. I try to have fun with others, and to enjoy life. I read and learn more about Jesus Christ, His teachings, and the teachings of the prophets so that I can strengthen my faith. I try to share hope with others and look on the positive side of things. My favorite expression is, "Everything will work out." I live my faith by how I live my life. I strive to do the right things at all times. I'm not perfect, but I am trying my best to be the best person I can be.
