Hi I'm Jeff

I grew up in Albuquerque, NM. I am studying to be a Mechanical Engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a masters student in Mechanical Engineering. I am excited to graduate this coming spring semester and move onto a carrer. I am also currently working as a manager of the Engineering Tutoring Center, where I worked as a tutor for the previous three years during my undergratuate studies. In December 2010, I married Sarah, the love of my life. There are many things that I enjoy out side of school and work. I love spending time with my famiy. With three brothers, four sisters, and two parents there is always a lot of things to do. I enjoy off-roading in my Jeep Wrangler.

Why I am a Mormon

There have been many experiences that have caused me to believe. Although I was raised by my parents to believe in this church, my independent conversion began when I was 15 years old. I was no different from many teenagers, struggling with confidence and other social issues, when I began to discover that Heavenly Father cared personally for me and that the teachings of the Church were correct. When I was seeking help for a particular issue, I decided to read from the Book of Mormon and to talk with my Heavenly Father, through prayer. I felt peace come to my heart that night. Peace that God was in control and that he was watching out for me. I felt like the spirit gave me ideas, as I read the scriptures, of how to deal with my current issues. This was the start of the many experiences were God has touched my heart with his spirit. Through similar feelings I came to know that the scriptures are true including the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Heavenly Father has answered my prayers many times. I believe that God has chosen prophets to continue to preach his word because I have listened to them speak and have felt strongly in my heart, by the spirit, that their words are true. The truth of the Church has become more of a reality as I have lived its standards and teachings. It is of God.

How I live my faith

I actively participate in my local ward. I have been asked by the Bishop to teach Sunday School with my wife. We teach teenage boys and girls. I love teaching our young class about Jesus Christ. They are fun and interested in learning more. My favorite part about this calling is that I get to prepare each week with my wife. We enjoy studying the scriptures together and coming up with ideas to teach these younger people the amazing stories and principles in God's word. Sunday Services inspire me to become a little better. I love to listen to the speaker and hear how they have lived the gospel of Jesus Christ. This generates ideas in my heart to improve my relationship with God.
