Hi I'm Sharolyn

I am a wife and mother of five. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family and stay busy taking care of them. I became a grandma this year! I love yoga, gardening, math and organizing everyone else's stuff. I am currently taking an accounting class just for fun. I dream of running a marathon someday.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon originally because it was the religion my parents raised me in and now because of the many ways continued membership and activity have blessed my life: the teachings of the church have given me perspective in life, direction in parenting, hope in trials, warnings to avoid choices that could lead to problems and heartache, and understanding of life after death. This understanding has helped me as both of my parents have recently died. I know that I will be with them again someday. Being a member of the church has also blessed me with a network of instant friends and adopted "family" each time I have moved. But most of all being a member of the church has helped me come to know and love my Savior, Jesus Christ, and learn to rely on his power and love and grace.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving my family and friends, strengthening my relationship with my Savior and striving to follow the counsel of our latter-day prophet. I find peace, added strength and personal revelation as I pray and read the Book of Mormon. My husband and I are currently teaching a Strengthening Marriage class -- a 6 week workshop for couples that teaches relationship skills based on gospel principles. The class topics include Communicating with Love, Fostering Equality and Unity in Marriage, Overcoming Anger, Resolving Conflicts, and Enriching Marriage. Like in every other assignment or "calling" I have had, I feel that I have learned more and received more than I have ever given.
