Hi I'm Tyler

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a guy striving for an education, and working toward being a Web Developer. I love the outdoors, dancing, playing sports and just being an all around active person.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I'm a Mormon can be explained very simply, but is the most amazing thing in my life. I grew up learning about Christ and have always had faith in him, but there are so many sects of the Christian religion that believe in Christ. There came a point in my life when I decided to read from a book. A book that contains a record of Christ's ministry in the Americas shortly after His resurrection. The book was The Book Of Mormon. Not only did I read from this book, but after I read I prayed asking God if the contents of the book were true. After I prayed I knew that it was true, because the spirit of God bore witness of its truthfulness to me. I know that if anyone else does the same, sincerely looking for the truth and open to the Lord's spirit will receive that same confirmation. After that knowledge came everything else fell in to place. If The Book Of Mormon is a true record, then Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints is Christ's true and living church.

How I live my faith

I just live my faith by trying to be a better person everyday. God has set his commandments and I do my best to follow them, serve my fellow man, and just be a good person. I definitely have my faults just like everyone else, but the gospel is about progression. Like I said, just trying to work things out and be better every day.

What is the First Vision?

The first vision was an answer to a young man's prayer that has lead to millions of people coming to Christ and receiving the fullness of his gospel. As a young man Joseph Smith was a faithful Christian, but was confused by the religious movements happening at the time. Nobody could seem to agree on doctrine and the leaders and followers of different sects were all bickering and fighting among each other as to who was right. Joseph read in James 1:5 which reads "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask God, that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him". He took this scripture to heart and decided to ask God which of sects were right. He found a grove of trees near his home where he could be alone and prayed asking which church was true. He received an incredible answer. God the Father and his son Jesus Christ appeared before Joseph, and our Heavenly Father called Joseph by name and implored him to hear the words that Christ was about to speak. Christ told Joseph that none of the sects at the time had the fullness of the gospel and that it was yet to be revealed. Joseph later learned that he would be the prophet through whom the Lord would reveal his gospel. Show more Show less
