Hi I'm Ladene

I grew up in Canada, but moved to U.S.A. when I got married. I am the mother of 8 children and the grandmother of 15.I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I taught Home Economics for 6 years. When my first baby came, I quit my job teaching to be a full time mom. My husband and I have 8 children and 15 grandchildren, with another on the way. I love being a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker! I also love teaching, and so I chose to home-school my children. It was a great experience to teach each child to read, write, do arithmetic, and many other things like cooking, canning, and budgeting. I was able to spend many hours with my children together with me. It was a lot of work to be responsible for my children's education, but I found it very rewarding. To help with the family income I have done paper routes for many years. Our children have learned to work by helping with the paper routes. They also learned to drive while we were delivering papers. I am presently teaching math at a charter junior high and high school. I am enjoying helping each student in the learning process. I love to organize and am busy organizing all my recipes. I love to watch a good movie. I love to go for walks. I enjoy sight-seeing. My husband and I have been able to travel to Hawaii, New York City, Branson, and even made a trip to South America to make a short visit to Brazil, Argentina, and Peru.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a home where everyone in my family were Mormon. However, when I was 17 years old, a missionary asked me to read the Book of Mormon all the way through. I wanted to please him, and so I agreed. When I had completed reading the book, I had a conviction that what I had just read was from God. I knew in my heart and mind that Jesus Christ truly is the Savior of the world and that He loves each one of us enough that He was willing to atone for our sins. As I grew and matured, I had validated to me many times that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth. I am a Mormon because I want to follow Jesus Christ and His teachings and to have a fulness of His gospel in my life. I feel that the commandments we have been given are a protection to us as we keep them. I am so grateful to have a living prophet on the earth who God speaks to and helps us to know the right way to live. I am a Mormon because I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's true church restored to the earth to help us prepare to meet God and live with Him someday. I believe that through priesthood ordinances and God's grace we can live together with our families in heaven one day.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith each day by praying morning and night and by reading my scriptures so I will stay close to God and have His help and guidance in my life. I try to be a good wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. I watch for ways I can be of help to others. I enjoying giving service. When someone is sick or burdened down in some way, I like to take a meal or loaf of bread in to them and to let them know I am thinking of them and care about them. I try to be honest in all my dealings with my fellow man. Many times a business has made a mistake and not charged me for an item I have received. Even though it is not convenient for me to go back or to make a phone call explaining the oversight, I have tried to make sure they are paid for whatever I have received. I try to be a good example to my children and those I come in contact with. I try to be a good employee and give a good day's work for my wages. I try to be respectful of others who I come in contact with. I try to treat others in the way I would like to be treated. I try to remember that when we do something for someone that "as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me". I want to show my gratitude for my Savior Jesus Christ by doing what He would have me do and becoming like Him.
