Hi I'm Trent

I'm a husband, a father, love old movies, enjoy traveling and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to travel with my wife and children. Together we experience the food, sights, sounds, and smells (good or bad), and meet people. Did I mention food? It is fun to see my children experience these adventures and have their eyes opened to people and places unlike where we live. I also enjoy watching old movies from the golden age of Hollywood. These movies allow me to enjoy a good story without worrying what might be said or seen that is inappropriate. Most importantly, I am a husband and father. The time I spend with my family is what I enjoy best. Whether it’s helping out with homework, discussing the topics of the day, or watching a movie, I look forward to coming home from work to be with them. Being with my family is an investment of time that I am eager to give because I know that my family with have untold dividends from this investment.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I am a sixth generation Mormon, I still had to find out for myself if the teachings I learned as a youth were true. I studied the scriptures, particularly the Book of Mormon, and prayed asking God to let me know if he was there. And He did! Every person has to come to his or her own knowledge about God. God does love us and has a plan for us. If we ask sincerely, having faith, he will give you and me answers to his existence and his love. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives direction to my family and me. The world is moving in all different directions, focusing on what is deemed popular, fashionable or important. Jesus Christ and his teachings give me the safety to which I can anchor my family. I cannot imagine not having Jesus Christ in my life, knowing that by living His teachings and following His gospel, I can live a life full of hope, love, and charity.

How I live my faith

Living my faith gives me hope. It gives me direction. It gives me peace. Knowing that God has a plan for my family and me gives us confidence in the future. Although life can be full of challenges (and all of us have them), I can have peace knowing that God and his son Jesus Christ have my best interest in mind. Recently, like so many others, I became unemployed. This was a new experience for me. I did not know how to feel. I felt concerned, disappointed, and even questioned my own abilities. However, as I approached the situation knowing that God loves me, I knew that better days lie ahead and that this experience was for my benefit. Although, I have not returned to full-time employment, I have become closer to my Father in Heaven and my faith has strengthened. My faith sustains me each day. “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31.
