Hi I'm Jeffrey

I'm a Mormon. I was born Phoenix, AZ. I was raised in the Baptist religion and was converted in 1997 to the church.

About Me

I am a husband and father, have 9 children and 2 grand children. Our youngest daughter has Down Syndrome. I enjoy the outdoors, camping, and hunting. I work in the HVAC industry.

Why I am a Mormon

I investigated the church for 3 1/2 years, attempting to make sure that I fully understood what the beliefs and standards are. After I was comfortable with my level of understanding I took my becoming a member to the Lord in prayer and received the answer that this is his church on the earth and that the Book of Mormon is his word as well as the King James version of the Bible. I also learned many things that are in the bible that as a Baptist I had never heard them spoken of or explained in any lesson or sermon. I knew at the age of 9 that Jesus Christ is my Savior and was baptized in a small Baptist church, but now I know that he has restored his church on the earth just as it was when he walked on the earth. I entered into the waters of baptism again but was baptized by one who holds the authority from our Heavenly Father through his restored priesthood. By being obedient to the laws and commandments of his gospel I continue to feel an incredible peace in my life even when I have faced adversity in my life. I know our Savior lives and atoned for my sins and through his sacrifice I can repent and be cleansed, and if I say worthy can live with him and our Heavenly Father for eternity.

How I live my faith

I always struggled with the pastor of our church being paid to lead the church, when I found out that in a ward/branch that all the positions are carried out by the members it strengthened my testimony that this is our Savior's church restored upon the earth. Before I became a member I was asked to serve as the cub master in the cub scout organization of the ward. I have served in many callings, currently I have been call to lead the ward as the Bishop. I enjoy working with the leaders and members in accomplishing many things, such as service projects in our community ranging from painting park benches to collecting food for the local food bank. Our youth are usually the back bone of these projects guided and assisted by the adult leaders. I can recall as a youth we did a few service projects and can remember what joy it brought me and the wish that more would be planned. Our lives are very full but taking time to serve others brings comfort and happiness.
