Hi I'm Sue

I'm a Mormon, and I'm so happy to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

About Me

I joined the church in 1980. I was 26years old. I married a young man who had also joined the church the same year. Together we have six children. So I've been a Mormon for 31 years. I have loved being a stay at home mum. Over the years I have worked as a carer with the elderly and with people with a disability. I enjoy craft, sewing, music, walking, animals and people, and being involved in the Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

Is truth important to you? It is to me. Two missionaries came to my door and showed me God's plan. The scriptures speak of truth throughout it's pages, explaining God's plan for us. There can only be one truth, one plan. I love that we are organized as the primitive church was organized in Jesus's day. Jesus chose apostles and pastors and teachers. There was always a prophet to lead and guide the people of God throughout the ages, it is the same today. It makes sense to me, that God is the same today as He was yesterday and He will be the same forever. I know that Joseph Smith was chosen to be a prophet in the latter days. By being obedient to instructions he was given by God, he was able to translate ancient gold plates into what is called The Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon compliments the Bible and testifies of truths taught there. What could be better than knowing the truth. Why are we here? Where did we come from and where are we going? I am a Mormon, happy to know the answers to these questions, and this brings peace to my heart

How I live my faith

We all volunteer our time in the church. I have taught children, 2-12, taught youth 12-18, and I have taught adults. I am involved with the women in the church where we visit those in need. I enjoy organizing activities for the women and families, which could be a dinner or dance or learning about self sufficiency or a craft class, or cooking, or fitness. We are encouraged to live a healthy lifestyle, so eating well and keeping fit is something I enjoy. Reading the scriptures each day and praying morning and night is a routine for me and keeps me close to God.Going to church each Sunday is also a routine for me and recharges my batteries to head into another week. I enjoy listening to the speakers and teachers each Sunday and gaining more spiritual knowledge to help me live my life to the full and be in harmony with God. Sharing my beliefs with others and helping those in need are a life long goal for me. I love having the gospel knowledge in my life.
