Hi I'm Bill B.

I grew up in El Cerrito California, and moved to Arizona when I got married. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful woman who I met a BYU in 1978. As a father of four children, and grandfather of eleven grandchildren, I consider my wife and all of them to be the precious jewels of my life. I love all kinds of music from Classical to Jazz. Reading and learning are important to me. Good literature, the Scriptures, novels, science fiction, archaeology, anthropology, geology, history, and other scientific books fascinate me. I love Family History and try to spend a little time each day learning more about my ancestors. I also love visiting the L.D.S. Temples where ever we go. I have an ever expanding collection of world coins and currency, and love to share. My wife and I love traveling, especially in Spanish speaking countries. In 2013 we traveled to Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Greece, Turkey, and Malta. I am fluent in English and Spanish, having served an L.D.S. mission in Cordoba, Argentina. Together we love to go camping and hiking in the mountains, whenever we can.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a young man, I attended L.D.S. Church meetings with my family. I always believed in God and Jesus Christ, but until I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was true, I did not have the strong feelings and convictions that I have now. I am so grateful for my Heavenly Father, who loves me, and for my Savior Jesus Christ, whose commandments I try to follow. I know they are real and they care about me, and my family. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true volume of scripture, and as I read and study it, my testimony of its truths grow stronger and stronger. One of our songs that our grandchildren sing is, "I'm trying to be like Jesus; I'm following in his ways." I am truly trying to be like Jesus, and by following what our Prophet, and Apostles teach, and what the scriptures say, I will be like Him someday. I am so grateful that The Church of Jesus Christ was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is what it says it is in its name. It is the Church founded by Jesus Christ. Without it, I would not be the person I am today.

How I live my faith

I am grateful for the opportunities to serve people that our Church has given me. Over the years, I have enjoyed teaching adults in our adult Sunday School classes. The New and Old Testament, and The Book of Mormon courses I have taught have not only helped others to learn more about Jesus Christ and the ancient prophets, but have uplifted my spirit, and helped me to love the scriptures. I love to do genealogical research, to identify and find out as much as I can about how my ancestors lived. It gives me great pleasure to help others to do their own Family Trees. I have worked as a Boy Scout Merit Badge Counselor, and helped at Girl's camps. Last of all I love to attend our Sunday meetings, and visit our Temples, where I always feel a special Spirit, that tells me that, "This is where God and Jesus want me to be."
