Hi I'm Rex Z. Nilson

I'm the #5 of 9 children and grew up in Oregon. I served a mission to Kentucky & Tennessee, and now work as a podiatric physician.

About Me

My favorite church calling is being a home teacher. I believe this program is inspired and a great help to all people. I am the father of three children and they are a great source of both joy to me, especially watching their spiritual growth. I have traveled to various parts of the world and have enjoyed finding other members of the church. This allows me to feel at home wherever I may be.

Why I am a Mormon

I first became a member of the church because my parents raised me to be so. Along the way, however, I developed my own strong beliefs in the restored gospel. My mission gave me a desire to be a father, husband, and a home teacher. I was inspired by the great examples all around me of righteous husbands, fathers, and church leaders. I saw the value in being like them and strive everyday to be a good example, too.

How I live my faith

Part of my church responsibilities is to organize service projects in the community. I have seen many examples of how multiple hands can work together and improve a park or clean a neglected area. Those who serve also find joy in helping and satisfaction in serving others. I also enjoy my duties as a hometeacher, (someone who visits families assigned to them to uplift them and discover individual needs). During the years I have seen many people's lives change for the better because they had someone who is interested in them and is their friend. This I believe is how our Father in Heaven looks after his children.
