Hi I'm Mara

I'm the youngest of four daughters. I absolutely love the snow. I'm a student at BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently attending Brigham Young University to obtain a Public Health degree. I love being at a university where there are so many people that share the same values, beliefs, and standards that I have. I've made so many new friends at school that help me to maintain my standards and support me through everything. I'm the youngest of four daughters. I always feel like I have the most amazing family in the world; they mean the world to me One of my sisters has Down-Syndrome. Even though it's sometimes hard to communicate with her, I love her with all my heart and I'm so grateful for how she's blessed my life. She's taught me to be more patient and to see people as Christ would see and love others. My family is one of the most important things in my life and I wouldn't be who I am without them. I love the show The Neighbors. I absolutely love baking in the fall because that's when it's socially acceptable to bake with pumpkin as often as you can. I'm Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) certified. I absolutely love scarves and sweaters. Winter is my favorite season. I took 8 years of piano lessons and 7 years of dance lessons, yet I can't dance to save my life. I'm in love with fuzzy socks and blankets. I have a deep love for young children; they're so sweet and always say the most comical things. I think first aid kits are way cool. Oh...and I'm a Mormon. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, so I've always been a Mormon. To be honest, I can't imagine a life without the Church. I am who I am today because I've been Mormon all my life. I continue to follow Christ's teachings because I know without a doubt they are true. I know that Joseph Smith restored the Church to the Earth and that he translated the Book of Mormon so we can have it in our day and age. I love my Savior with all my heart and I will never forget all that He has done for me. I know that the Church is true. I know that through our Heavenly Father's plan for us, we can return to live with Him and we can live with our families forever.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday, I go to church with my family for three hours. My standards are a major part of my life. I've made the choice to have high standards for myself and to live them to the best of my ability. For example, I don't swear or take the Lord's name in vain. I don't drink, do drugs, or do anything that can harm my body. I dress modestly, which shows that I respect myself and I know who I am. These are just a few ways I live my faith.
