Hi I'm Rachel

I grew up in Arizona. I'm an AP student obsessed with stories and anime. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Just started journal number eight the other day. I guess that says something about me--writing is my life. My teachers used to tease me that I was born with a pencil. Simply, I'm fascinated with the concept of the Story. Star wars freak! It's fun! And I love to play Japanese Role-Playing Games, particularly Square Enix....I love Dungeons and Dragons. I love school. I try to take all the classes that will blow my brain out and make me scream and frantically cram the night before a test. It's fun, actually. Math club is great. Everyone should have one. I wrote a book. Probably will never publish it. I just love to write for the story, remember? I've got these idea logs that i carry everywhere I go, and in them are ideas I can just flip through and be inspired by. They range from one sentence to one paragraph. Next to those logs is my sketchbook. I'm starting to draw--TRYING to draw. A few months ago, I was introduced to the world of manga and anime. While some of its stuff is sketchy, I've found that the stories and lives of the characters are often inspiring. That, and the art is beautiful. One thing in particular that stands out to me is its grandness of some of the stories (FMA comes to mind). Heck. I JUST LOVE IT! Hm. I'm a dreamer, aspiring writer, wanna-be japan obsessor, and...MORMON! DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING, DID YA??

Why I am a Mormon

My parents, basically. I come from one of those typical Mormon background stories (oh, my parents are mormon and blah blah blah i was born into the church). Stuff like that. But I'm STILL Mormon and acting like one throughout high school probably because--even though it sounds odd--most of my friends are not mormon. In the academic world at my school, there's not many mormons running in the track. So people who are in my classes know I'm mormon. They ask me questions. Sometimes make me question what I believe. But from THEM I learn who I am. I can see the knowledge and beauty of the world God has graciously put me in, and I can think of no better way to express my gratitude than to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I go to seminary. Attend church. Typical sunday school answers. I really love to study the scriptures (LOVE THE STORIES!!!). Church history fascinates me. But...I basically just try to get people to ask me questions and then I answer them to the best of my ability. It's kinda fun. I'm still in high school, so while there's not a lot of stuff i can do, it's something.
