Hi I'm April

I grew up as the youngest of 4 children. I'm a birth mother. I'm a social worker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to camp, go on road trips, and be with my siblings as much as possible. I just got married in a Mormon Temple! I love my husband so much. There were times in my life that I wondered if Temple marriage or marriage at all would happen for me. Temple marriage was always important to me but it was so easy to stray. I fought hard for what I wanted. It wasn't easy, but it was sure worth it! I graduated college recently with a degree in social work. I am passionate about every aspect of social work. I first decided I wanted to be a social worker because of my love for adoption. I placed a baby for adoption when I was a teenager. Once I started school my desire to work with so many people grew and grew.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS), but I truly believe that everybody needs to have their own conversion process. Mine happened when I was in my late teens and pregnant. I was faced with a difficult decision, but I needed to KNOW something for myself. I realized that I needed to find out for myself if our church was true and do it the right way. I read the bible, the Book of Mormon, I prayed and asked with a sincere heart if the Book of Mormon was true, if the church was true, if Joseph Smith was a Prophet, if the Prophet at the time was a true and living Prophet, and if the Temple's were here in the Lord's name and in them families can be together for eternity. I prayed, listened, and then rather quickly I felt warmth in my heart and great joy. At the same time I had immediate confirmation that it was best for my baby that I place it for adoption. I am not saying that adoption is best for everyone. It was best in this situation and was a big turning point in my life as well. I love being a Mormon, I love the support, I love the Book of Mormon and I believe every word. I know that we can repent because of Christ's love for all of us and I am thankful for the Temple's all around the World. I know that without Him I could not get through my trials and without Him I would not have Joy. I've chosen to be a member of His church. I don't have to be Mormon, I GET to be Mormon!

How I live my faith

I have enjoyed volunteering for the community. I love to see when families reunite, work well together, and have fun. I also love to get involved in church whenever possible. A lady and I go visit several other woman every month. We go to see how they are doing, ask them if there is anything we can do for them, and chat with them about their life/church. I have made so many friends and had great conversations. There is so much support around me. I love going to the Temple. I now go inside since I got married, but before I would walk around the grounds of the Temple. Being at the Temple is so peaceful. Praying is important to me as well as paying tithing.
