Hi I'm Nancy

I am a wife, a mother, a classical pianist, a teacher, a second degree black belt in Tae-Kwon-do and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of a 17 year old boy and an 12 year old girl. I enjoy playing the piano, scrap booking, interior decorating, doing jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles, hiking, riding my bike, doing Tae-kwon-do, and learning and teaching about the gospel of Jesus Christ. My family is my most prize possession in this life, and I make an effort to spend quality time with them. I enjoy taking vacations with my family. I have a bachelors degree in piano performance from UNLV. I competed in pageants when I was younger winning the titles of miss Las Vegas, miss Clark County and was a runner-up to miss Nevada. I am NOT good at cooking regularly, organizing paper, bookkeeping, or any team sports.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a family that was active in the church. My parents have always been good examples for me of how I should live my life. I have known that the gospel was true for as long as I can remember. I have never doubted it through out my life. My testimony has grown over the years as I have prayed, studied and pondered the scriptures, listened to the Prophet and Apostles, attended church regularly, and put into practice the teachings of the gospel. I cannot imagine going through life without it. My life has meaning and purpose, because I know who I am, why I am here and where I am going.

How I live my faith

The gospel is a way of life! It is not just something you do on Sunday. It is not easy to live the gospel continuously, it is a daily effort of striving to be better. I live the gospel through daily prayer and scripture study, controlling my thoughts and actions, and avoiding environments that could lead me towards anything that would not be pleasing to my Heavenly Father. I teach my children the gospel through example, family scriptures and prayer,(which we have daily), family home evening where we sing and have a lesson, or just play games once a week. I also have one on one time with each of my children; with my daughter we call it "girl time" we both love it. We visit and I briefly share with her the words of the prophets and apostles. I encourage each of my children to pray and read the scriptures every day. I have the opportunity of teaching the youth of the church every morning before school. The high school age kids (ages 14-18) come to the church each day before school to learn and study the scriptures. This is an awesome responsibility and privilege. Each year we study a different book of scripture. This year we are studying The Old Testament. They are learning, but the teacher always learns the most. I do an activity every other Wednesday at church with the girls from 8-11 years old. These have to do with learning and living the gospel, developing talents and serving others. We all have a wonderful time. I also play the organ every Sunday. I do not get paid for any of these jobs. It is all part of living the gospel by giving of myself. All of this gives me joy and happiness.
