Hi I'm Stephanie

I'm a Mormon. I grew up on a farm always wanting to be a teacher. I taught for several year and I am now a school administrator.

About Me

I married the love of my life 25 years ago and we are the proud parents of three daughters and one son. Our daughter married in the temple and they have a beautiful son (my first grandson) and she is pregnant with her second. My son is attending college along with being a Marine. My last two beautiful daughters are still home with us. My family is the greatest success that I have experienced in my entire life. I grew up in a small town in Oregon on a farm where we worked very hard. I was the second of nine children and the oldest daughter. I attended BYU for a year and then met my husband and settled down in Arizona. It took me 15 years to completed my degree in education so that I could teach, but my children were first on my list. I taught two years in Mesa, Arizona in 4th and 5th grade, but when we moved to Show Low, the only opening was teaching in Kindergarten, which I absolutely loved. During that time, I got my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Specializing in Reading and the high school came calling to help with their reading scores. I then taught Sophomore English for two years. I then was hired as the Curriculum and Federal Programs Director at the same district, which I am currently still doing.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church my entire life. My parents set a great example of living the gospel and the importance of it in our lives. I have ancestors that came all the way from England just to get to Zion and they left all of us a strong legacy to live up to. I know without a doubt that this church is true and that the teachings of the gospel are true. I believe in Christ and know that he died so that we may have the gift of the atonement. I know that Joseph Smith is the true prophet that restored the gospel to the church and that President Monson is the living prophet. The gospel has always been a part of my life and is something that I hold very dear to my heart. It is not only what I am, but who I am.

How I live my faith

For many years, I have been involved in the Youth Program. I have worked with the young women of the church for most of my married life. At this time, I am working with the young women at the stake level and absolutely love it. The best part of my calling is Girls Camp because it brings about changes in the youth that can only be accomplished out in nature. Several years ago, my son was in a very serious car accident that left him with a traumatic brain injury. I wrote a book about how the gospel not only saved my son's life, but how it saved me from giving up. The gospel gave me the strength to face the issues at hand and to know that my beliefs and my testimony would help me to overcome anything that came my way.
