Hi I'm Nate

I love my family, I'm studying math, I'm a runner, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at a university in Utah. I like all kinds of sports, especially running. I'm on the Cross Country and Track teams at my school. I was a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for two years in Santiago, Chile. I love spending time with my family, like going on vacations with them. I am the second of six children.

Why I am a Mormon

In very few words, I am a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is true. Yes, my parents raised me in the church ever since I was little, and they taught me to love the Lord and follow his teachings, but these are things that have only helped me gain a personal conviction that I know that this is the Lord's one and only true Church. The Book of Mormon is the evidence that Jesus is the Christ and that this is His true Church. It contains testimonies of many prophets that saw Him and conversed with Him. It was brought forth in our day by the prophet Joseph Smith, who translated this ancient record by the power of God. Therefore, if the Book of Mormon is true, then the man who translated it must have had divine help from Heaven. So, if the Book of Mormon is true than Joseph Smith was a true prophet and the Church of Christ really was restored by him. On the other hand, of the Book of Mormon is not true, then neither is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know this book to be true because I have read and continue to read it daily. I have also asked God in prayer to know if it is true. Through a deep feeling of peace that comes from the Holy Ghost, God has answered me that yes, it is true.

How I live my faith

Apart from the conviction that I have because of an answer to a prayer, I know that this is Christ's church because the things it teaches are good and uplifting. For example, we are taught not to drink alcohol, smoke, or use other harmful substances. My decision to follow this standard among others has greatly influenced my life for good; keeping me healthy, smart, and out of trouble. I love association with others of my faith because we inspire each other to be better. I also love talking with those not of our faith and comparing their values to my own. Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ makes me and those around me happy, and that is another reason why I know that its true.
