Hi I'm Janese Shaw

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I study Music Education.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and baptized when I was eight-years-old. My faith has given me a purpose in my life. I have come to rely on the scriptures and the words of modern-day prophets to sustain me through the trying times I face. One thing that I have found is that life is always changing. Although I am young, I have already moved multiple times, made new friends, and experienced a wide variety of things. I am thankful that matter where I live, who I am with, or what I am doing, the gospel of Jesus Christ never changes. In my life, I have come to know a Heavenly Father who is loving, and merciful. I know that he hears my prayers and is not only aware of me, but of everyone on this earth. I love being a member of this church because of the strength and purpose that it gives me. I have faith that God has an eternal plan for me. He knew me before I came to this earth, He is aware of me now, and He has provided a way for me to return to live with Him--in all of His glory-- again. I know that he does this because He loves me.

How I live my faith

I attend church in a Young Single Adult's stake in southern Utah. This is a unique opportunity because I get to attend church with people my own age, that are in the same time of their lives. I serve in my church as the librarian. This has been an educational experience for me. I am amazed at how resourceful the church is. There are messages, teaching tools, magazines, pictures, and other important resources that are readily available for people to use. The church is highly organized. I am sure that if anyone were looking for an answer to a question, it could be found through the church. I am learning that not only does the library have incredible research material, but that the church websites are accessible and easy to navigate.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Janese Shaw
The Law of Chastity is designed to protect the sacred power that Heavenly Father has given us to create children. Keeping the Law of Chastity means that one doesn't have any sexual relationships before marriage, and after one is married sexual relations are only between husband and wife. We keep the Law of Chastity because we respect our bodies as they are temples, and we respect the divinity of the Family unit. Show more Show less
