Hi I'm Nicole

I grew up in Missouri. I'm a married mother of six children, and we are a blended family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in rural Missouri and got to Texas just as quickly as I could. I love being a Texan but I also love where I came from. The humble beginnings of my childhood help me parent six lovely children and remind me that there is good in all things, even if we don't see it right away.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church in 1999 and have reaped the blessings everyday since. My husband also joined the church at that time. We called our baptism affectionately, "The double dip". As I continued to grow spiritually, I realized that the gospel empowered me more and more each day. I felt my Savior's love as I enjoyed the blessings of motherhood. I had three children when my husband decided that this life wasn't what he really wanted anymore. As I struggled with divorce and single parenthood, I again felt my Savior's love for me. My children were ages four years old, two years old and five months old when our faith was tested with divorce. Four years later, I wrote on a piece of paper the things I wanted in a spouse. I was very specific, blue eyes, at least 6 foot tall with children of his own. Less than three months later, I met Billy. He had three children that he was raising alone and we hit it off right away. We were married six weeks after we met. Our family doubled in size!!! I know my Heavenly Father gave me trials so I could know what happiness looked like when I saw it again. We were sealed in the San Antonio Temple for time and all eternity. I am grateful for the church and I'm proud to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In the gospel, true happiness is found. I know that my family is an eternal family and I'm grateful for a living prophet who leads us in these days. I know that I will return to live with my Heavenly Father someday.

How I live my faith

I try to my best to be the mother that God intended me to be. I know I fall short at times, but I also know I'm not meant to be perfect in this life. In addition to being a full time mother and wife, I also enjoy volunteering in my community. I serve as PTO President at my son's middle school and work with various committees in the school district. I attend church in a small branch and love every minute of it! I have enjoyed serving in many different capacities in my church, each one a learning experience. My favorite opportunities revolve around the women in the church. I enjoy fellowship with these women! The best part, is that it isn't only a Sunday opportunity. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints offers me the chance to nurture and expand my testimony, through service all the time. I may take meals to someone who has had a baby or is experiencing a rough patch in their life. Those opportunities strengthen my love for those I serve which in turn strengthens my love for my Savior.
