Hi I'm Matt Stout

I'm a husband, father, electrical engineer, pianist, and I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah, Colorado and California and graduated from high school in California. I served a full-time 2-year mission in West Germany and lived in several cities, including Bremen, Kiel, West Berlin and Hamburg. After completing my mission, I attended college and earned a BS and MS in electrical engineering. I have worked in the semiconductor industry and electric power industry. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, playing the piano, watching movies, and exercising. I have a wonderful wife and four awesome children who are fun to be with. We enjoy joking around with each other and quoting lines from movies. My wife and children are all very smart and talented and keep me on my toes.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church since I was baptized at age eight. The teachings of the Church bring a sense of peace to my life and help me understand who I am and why I am on this earth. It is especially comforting to know that, because my wife and I were married in the temple, our family will be together forever. Understanding the purpose of this life brings a stability to my family that helps us deal with challenges. Although challenges are inevitable and often difficult, my faith in Jesus Christ and knowledge of the Plan of Salvation help me overcome trials in my life.

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving in our local congregation. My assignment in the congregation gives me the opportunity to interact with a lot of people. I especially enjoy spending time with the youth and attending the San Antonio temple with them. Serving in the church is a way I can show my love for Heavenly Father and his children. I read the scriptures and study gospel principles every day. This helps me strengthen my conviction of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and increases my faith in Him and Heavenly Father.
