Hi I'm Nia

I'm a college student, a violinist, a runner, and a reader. My favorite holiday is the 4th of July and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm currently serving a mission in the Raleigh, North Carolina Spanish Speaking Mission! My family means everything to me, I love to run, watch movies, eat pizza and scuba dive. I grew up in Thornton, Colorado and attended BYU after high school. I have no idea what I want to major in, because I want to major in everything! My mission is the best thing I have ever done in my life, I am so extremely grateful to my Heavenly Father for giving me this opportunity to spread the Gospel to other people, because the Gospel is the biggest blessing in my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS church, but my parents always said I need to find the truth for myself. I have lived the teachings of the Gospel, and I have seen the blessings that come with keeping the commandments. I know that if I follow the teachings of the Gospel, I will be happy and I will be blessed. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and wants to help me, and I know that Jesus Christ lives, He is so real! He loves me and died for me. Most importantly, I know all this for myself, no one forced me to believe. I am a Mormon because I know it to be the truth and because the Gospel of Jesus Christ makes me so incredibly happy.

How I live my faith

I try to live the commandments every day of my life, I do my best to serve in the church, and I help to teach my younger siblings about the gospel. I try to set a good, positive example for everyone around me, I want others to feel the spirit when they are with me.

What is being a Mormon like?

Nia
I'll be honest, being a Mormon is not the easiest thing in the world! It's hard to face the world knowing that what I believe is unpopular and is rejected by many. But I can keep going because I know that it is true. I can't imagine my life with out the Gospel, life would be so scary! Life is really hard for everyone, it's not fair, there are good days and there are bad days, and basically, life just isn't easy. But the Gospel of Jesus Christ makes it possible, and it makes life so much better. I will never be able to put into words the happiness and the peacefulness that the Gospel brings into my life. It's hard to find happiness and peace in the world these days, but it is so comforting to know that there is hope for me, that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me and that they are with me always, and they will help me.
